For the Birds

Here are two bird cards I made for the Grand Opening at Crop Stop a few weeks ago. This first one turned out so cute I did a happy dance! I used two of my new Cuttlebug Embossing Folders and a new Inkadinkado stamp. If you want to see how to use the Embossing Folders, I also wrote an embossing tutorial which you can find here.

This next one was a messy project. I made the card from Basic Grey paper, and added some Stickles to make it sparkle. I then stamped the greeting with Heat and Stick Powder (Stampin' Up) and sprinkled that with blue glitter. (I know! Me and glitter???!!!) You could also use one of the brands of glue pad that's on the market (Martha Stewart or Staz-On. I just had some of the HSP in my stash.) Then, I took a Maya Road acrylic bird and rubbed his reverse side with Versa Mark ink and dusted him with Pearl Ex powders. (How long have THOSE been in my stash?!) I also dusted the Prima flowers with some Pearl Ex to give them some sparkle.

Thanks for looking!

  1. Thanks so much for the inspiration. Thanks for the embossing tutorial link. I was inspired to go out and get a Cuttlebug with my Micheal's 50% off coupon last week and can't wait to try this myself!!!
