Envelope Gift Bag

I wanted to show you my CropStop project for today. I'm still in love with the Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder, so I used that again. I got this idea while I was looking at a big box of various sized envelopes I found on my shelf. I collect so much STUFF - and then forget I have it! So, in shopping through my stash, I found a bunch of business-size envelopes in many colors...and thought they looked pretty cool. So I got the idea of making gift bags out of them!

I embossed the envelop with the Victoria folder. You have to emboss it in sections and I did end up with some creases and overlap...but I just covered those areas with ribbon. I found this ribbon in the $1 bin at Michael's last year...it's wonderful ribbon! Part of the Halloween line they had.

After I embossed the envelope, I made a topper for it. I cut some black cardstock big enough to fold over the top, then trimmed one edge with a Fiskars punch. I added some bits of Halloween paper, a button, a fussy cut bat, and more ribbon.

The envelope is the perfect size for stuffing with candies, tea bags, cocoa packets, seed packets, gift cards, coupons, a book mark, etc. All sorts of cool stuff can fit in there! What an EASY gift bag...cheap to make too! I may make some Christmas-y ones to pass out in my neighborhood this year. They'd be perfect!

ETA: I also want to say "Happy Birthday" to my dad and to my daughter. My dad would have been 81 yesterday, may he rest in peace. I sure miss him and find it hard to believe he's been gone for 12 years. Here is a layout I made a year or so ago - showing my dad at age 20 or 21, holding my oldest brother.

My daughter will be 14 tomorrow! I am not sure how time has passed so quickly. She's sure growing up into a wonderful young lady! Here is a layout I made at the beginning of summer. The photo was taken in Hawaii this past May.

That's it for today! Check in on Sunday for the 365 Cards sketch!

  1. Hugs Gloria! My mom's birthday would have been yesterday too. She would have been 62, she's been gone 5 years and it still seems like yesterday.
