It's Monday!

Please tell me that it's not already October 19th! Christmas will be here before I know it...and another New Year...and my 45th birthday is just around the corner from there! STOP THE MADNESS!

I have a bunch of stuff to show you today. First let's do the 365 Cards Monday Challenge. Today we were supposed to let FABRIC be our inspiration. I was told to take a photo of some fabric around my house, post it, and post the card that was inspired by the fabric. Ok, you know that I cheated, right? I could NOT find any fabric here that inspired me, so I found these photos online at Pottery Barn, and loved these quilts SO much that I used them to inspire me. Pam let me get away with it! She loves me, what can I say?

My mom and most of my aunts are quilters, but I never learned. I wish I had - I can't even sew on a button without sewing the shirt to my pants! But, I love quilts. My husband does NOT. So I don't really have any in the house - I have to gaze longingly at them in stores and online. I loved the colors of these quilts. Aren't they yummy?

So I took those colors and the square/blocked pattern and used that as my card inspiration. I made a 6x6 card from textured Bazzill. Then I embossed the red Bazzill with the Textile Cuttlebug EF. You can just see a bit of the embossing. It reminded me of the "pebbly" feeling of the quilts.

The squares of paper are a sample contact sheet I printed off the Papertrey Ink website! You can print sheets like this of some of their papers - it's a "try before you buy" thing they have. You get 2 squares of each pattern. They are about 2x2, but I punched mine smaller with a Creative Memories punch.

Next I cut and embossed the labels with my trusty Spellbinders dies. Then I added the mulberry flowers (the white ones I got at CropStop, the red ones from Michael's bridal department).

I attached the lace, ribbon and button to the top with glue dots. The lace is something I just picked up at my LSS last week. Very pretty and I got it for 20% off, so gotta love that. The chipboard element was in a box of K&Company chipboard pieces I found in my stash.

I did promise you MacMae Card Kit goodies all week. So here are two more cards. This first one makes use of my distressing technique. Or what my husband calls the "why did you crap up that nice card" technique.

I stacked up two buttons and tied them with floss. I love that technique! I also printed the sentiment on the computer. I do not have a simple Halloween greeting, oddly enough. The next card is a fancy one. The papers are SEI - told you the kit this month was BEAUTIFUL!

I used my Martha punch to do the edges of the dark paper. I loooooove that punch! I'll have more kit cards tomorrow! If you have not purchased a MacMae kit yet, you should try one. The older kits are on SALE! But the kits are worth full price...they are jam packed with yummies!

I hope to be able to show you my ribbon re-org later this week. It's still a work in progress! I also hope to have time to play along with 365 Cards a few more days this week. I do know we have 2 more sponsors this month, plus the Blog Hop that Pam mentioned...so lots going on! Stay tuned!
