CropStop Friday 12/11

If you have been following the blog, you already know that I am the "embossing specialist" at CropStop. Haylie Jo wrote that I am the "boss lady" on the embossing forum description. Too funny! Anyway, I have mostly Cuttlebug embossing folders, but I do have a few Sizzix and Quickutz, as well as a drawer of old brass stencils. I have a LOT of embossing stuff, so I guess that makes me a "specialist"!

Today I am going to show you one of the Sizzix embossing folders, called Ornate Flowers and Frame. It comes with one A2 size EF, and three smaller folders. This is what the set looks like:

I got this set from CropStop a few months ago and am just now getting around to using it! Here is the card I made with the A2 folder:

The card is a tad smaller than 5x7 and made from green Bazzill. The printed paper is from a Making Memories 8x8 pad, Fa La La. I snagged this paper pad in the gift grab at my LSS club party on Tuesday!

I embossed a piece of Bazzill cardstock (that yummy color is pomegranate) with the folder, then rubbed it lightly with white Stampin' Up craft ink. Then, I buffed the ink off.

I tied on some ribbon and added a Jolee's 3-D dove sticker. To get your bow and ribbon to look like mine, first place the ribbon around the card and secure it to the back of the panel. Then, tie a bow with a second length of ribbon and attach it to the flat ribbon with a glue dot. It looks like a perfectly tied piece of ribbon, but is really two pieces. (See, you knew there was a cheat in there somewhere!)

The greeting is a Making Memories sticker from the 8x8 Fa La La pad. It is a very thin sticker material so I attached it to a piece of chipboard, trimmed the edges, and inked it. That way it has some dimension on the card. I added the holly from the Jolee's sticker set.

I have a billion things to do in the next few days, but I will be back for sure on Sunday with the 365 Cards sketch. Sadly, I am not sure I'll be playing along for today and Saturday. I will try, but I have my son's 18th birthday on Saturday and dh promised me a hot date to Costco when he gets back in town this afternoon! He emailed me last night and said, "Let's go to dinner (free samples at Costco) and a movie (the electronics aisle at Best Buy)." What a guy! LOL
