Our Creative Corner Sketch #1

As you read this, I am on my way to my scrapbooking retreat. I am setting this post up on Monday so that it posts for you today as I have loads to do before I can leave! I cannot wait to get there and start having fun. There are 8 ladies going and we are sure to have a great time. This retreat is held at an old hotel - turned retreat center - in the mountains east of San Diego. I'll share some photos when I get back!

Now, on to the Our Creative Corner sketch #1. Great sketch today! I had a lot of fun with it. You will notice that OCC has a NEW sketch blog! So, every Thursday you can see a new sketch and the DT samples! Since this is an all new blog, the sketches will start over with #1 (I know my sketch says 51....just ignore that!)

I did follow the sketch pretty well, but left off the scallops. Frankly, I printed the sketches out in draft mode so did not even see those until I copied the sketch to the blog! Oops.

I used Bazzill cardstock and SU dp for this card. I embossed the dp with the Textile Cuttlebug folder, then sanded it a bit. My favorite technique!

The image is a clipart I found free online somewhere. I used colored pencils and OMS to color-ize the roses. It turned out so fabbie! I was beyond proud of myself!

The flowers are mulberry paper roses. I also used two pins and some grosgrain ribbon. The little sentiment is a Hampton Art set that I got last week. I stamped it with SU Sahara sand ink.

I will have my CropStop Embossing project up tomorrow and another KLM Digital Designs peek on Saturday. I get back on Sunday night, but my best pal does not leave until Tuesday afternoon so I am not sure how much I'll be around live. I will try to schedule my posts so that you have stuff to look at every day while I'm gone.
