Graphic45 Summer Fun!

Before I show my card, I just want to do a SHOUT OUT to the ladies who took my Graphic45 Card Class at Jazi Crafts yesterday! WOOOHOOOO! What a great group of ladies! The class went WAY long, but I had a blast teaching, and the ladies all had fun! Can't ask for more than that! Ten ladies came to play, and I sold all 12 class kits! So double woot woot for me! I am not teaching again at Jazi until September, but the ladies almost begged me to add some classes, so....we'll have to see about that! They were just an AWESOME group! Which made my whole day! A special thanks to my gal pals Katrina and Debbie for helping the newbies in the group and for having a LATE lunch with me after class! You girls are DA BOMB!

Here is a card I created for the Graphic45/Tombow Blog Swap last week. Unfortunately, there were so many projects submitted by the G45 Team that not all of them could be used on the blog. Mine was one of the "orphans," so it needs some love! Here it is!

I used the Graphic45 On the Boardwalk papers for this hot, summer-time card! Are you diggin' that hot hot hot flower? Well, here is the technique on how to make it!

Technique: Watercolor Flowers

1. Using cream or white paper flowers (Petaloo), swipe Tombow markers over each flower. (Use water-based markers, NOT Copics!) I used pink and red on the large flower, orange and yellow on the medium flower, and blue and green on the small.

2. Lightly mist each flower with water to cause the colors to run.

3. While the flowers are still damp, crumple them, then gently unfold them and allow them to air-dry.

4. Once dry, swipe the flowers with Distress Ink to "age" them, then use Tombow liquid glue (mono or metal) to attach them to your card.

I cut bits from the papers to create some pop-dotted elements, like the tickets and faux postage stamps.

Here you can see that the card is pretty lumpy!

I found some hot orange ribbon to use, which just POPS off that teal paper! I gotta say, I have loved Graphic45 since I first saw it, but being on the DT and "having" to use it.....pure bliss!
