Elizabeth Craft Designs and G45

Just a quick posty before I have to get my chores finished. Then Matt and I are heading out to have a lunch date. We are celebrating his 44th birthday (which was Sept. 1) and our 23rd wedding anniversary (which is Sept. 5). For thrills were are going to Staples so I can get some items I "need" for my stamp storage, then to lunch at an undecided location. (We are so boring! But at least our date is not at Costco this time!)

I have another Graphic45 layout for you. (Yes, I said LAYOUT!) The Graphic45 Design Team was sponsored by Elizabeth Craft Designs. We received some of their Shimmer Sheetz to play with. Ok, we got a ton of stuff to play with! This is just the tip of the iceberg! Anyway, I used A Proper Gentleman and Hallowe'en in Wonderland papers to make this layout. The silver border at the bottom is made from one of the Shimmer Sheetz.

I trimmed the sheet to about 2x10 inches or so. Then I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder to emboss the design across the strip. The Shimmer Sheetz take the embossing very well. After I had embossed, I rubbed the strip with alcohol inks and Staz-On ink to "grunge it up" a bit, as these are very shimmery and I wanted to tone that down some for this layout. I used a Heidi Swapp date stamp to stamp the date, using Staz-On ink.

I also played with my new Tim Holtz Hanging Sign die. I cut the filigree part out of grungeboard, then inked it with Black Soot. Instead of using the sign that comes with the die, I used a Scenic Route chipboard element for my sign.

I trimmed out one of the Alice images from the G45 Hallowe'en in Wonderland papers, and then accented it with a Tim Holtz pin and some cardstock sticker words. I think these are a combo of Scenic Route, Making Memories, and I forget who else. Some of these have been in my stash for ages. Just shows you that your new stuff can play nicely with your old stuff!

Since I love all the little Tim Holtz metal gizmos, I also used a memo pin to hold one of the sticker words. Very cool.

This photo was from Halloween 2006. I had to search my albums to find years that I had not yet scrapped and this one came up a winner. My oldest son said, "Mom, you have to tell your scrapping people that I am 'The Phantom of the Hop-era' or my costume looks stupid!" So, you've been told! He dressed up to hand out candy that year...I guess he was 14 at the time. He's quite funny! Just like his mom! {giggle}

Go take a peek at the Graphic 45 Blog to see what the other DT members have been up to. And also go check out the fabbie goodies at Elizabeth Craft Design.
