Victorian Grunge Flower Tutorial

Hey, peeps! I have a fabbie flower tutorial posted on the Graphic45 Blog today! The flower on the tag below is made following my tutorial. I've used the NEW Once Upon a Springtime papers to showcase the flower!

Graphic45 papers are a heavy quality and really stand up to the beating they take when I make my grunge flowers. I spray them with glimmer mist and shape them, and once they dry they are "stiff" and hold their shape. They don't wilt like flowers made with thinner papers.

Isn't this new line fantastic?! I don't care much for pastels, but this color palette is AMAZING. It's not your mamma's pastel. It's muted and vintage and so beautiful!

I added some Stickles to my flower to give it the look of having sparkly dew on it! The paper holds it's shape so well! If you want to see how to make this flower, visit the Graphic45 Blog for a step-by-step tutorial. I have photos of each step!

I love making these flowers. They are so pretty and they only take a small bit of paper, so they are perfect for using up your scraps! And you know you keep every scrap of G45 paper! I know I do. I hate to throw even the smallest scrap away!

Check out my home-made wrinkle ribbon! You can die this to match any color palette! The crystal leaf is from my LSS, Stamping Details. I used a Graphic45 punch-out to cover a clear button, and placed the button over my ribbon knot. Very cool, right?!

The tag shape is cut using the new Tim Holtz tag die. Since Tim's doing his 12 Days of Christmas right now, I wanted to do Gloria's Whenever She Feels Like Making Them Tags! {HA!} So yes, I have more tags to show you this month!

Below is another card I made using this same flower technique. I will tell you, you need Tim's Tattered Florals die to make the flowers.

I used my favorite sheet of Graphic45 paper, Bee's Knees from the Times Nouveau line. This line is being discontinued! Say it ain't so! I am so happy I have a lot of it in my stash! Yet another reason why I hoard!

Here is a close-up of the flower. I cut it using the text paper from the Fashionista line. And I added some Maya Road pins, naturally!

I used a Sizzix Sizzlits petal die to make some large petals for the next card. I glued them to a cardstock circle and then embellished with a vintage button.

You can make flowers from all sorts of flower and petal shapes. Just play around and see what you come up with!
