Graphic45 Steampunk Debutante

I have a Graphic45 project to you you today. This is a page layout I made a while ago, but has just now been shown on the Graphic45 Blog. (You MUST visit the blog today and see Jenny's AMAZING Steampunk mansion!)

I used the Steampunk Debutante papers and a photo of my husband's grandmother for my layout. Matt's grandmother was engaged in 1935. Isn't she beautiful?! My mother-in-laws people were from the former Czechoslovakia, and she gave me some amazing photos of her family. I hope to showcase more on the blog in the future. Such a rich history!

Grandma Mary has passed to glory, about 15 years ago now. She was quite a character, let me just say that! So, I think this paper was PERFECT for this photo. She was also a tiny thing, I am not sure she was even 5 feet tall! I'm 5' 9" so was an amazon compared to this woman! But she had more spunk than any 10 women! She was also very strong in her faith and was an amazing prayer warrior. We all miss her very much.

I did some fussy cutting of leaves, flowers and butterflies, plus used some punches to make small butterflies. Just little touches to enhance the paper.

A few pearls here and there to finish things off. The layout is very simple, but the beautiful paper makes the layout seem fancier than it is!

Just FYI, my Graphic45 Final Round projects are on the way to the G45 office! They should have them in their hot little hands by tomorrow. We will get the announcement on April 1st about the 2011 team. I'm holding my breath until I find out. Ok, not literally...

I am off tomorrow for my girls' scrappy mountain retreat weekend, so will be out of email and cell phone communication until Sunday evening. I do have a post going up tomorrow morning...it's a sketch, so make sure you sketch fans stop back! I'll be here on Monday with photos of the retreat...hopefully! Unless I get eaten by a mountain lion or become snowed in up there! {grin}
