Blessed Easter!

For my family Easter is a time to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. We focus on that during this Holy Week. However, for most of my life the "Easter Season" also ushered in the coming of spring. My new life in Christ is mirrored by the new life in nature. God reminds us of the new life we have in Him!

Here in southern California, we have spring - it's not the same as the coming of spring in other parts of the world, but still..

Here is a photo of the peach tree in my backyard. It's actually past the bloom now, but this is what it looked like about a week ago!

I love flowers. (Hate to garden, however!) I also love to make flowers from paper! Here is a small canvas I made, using Spellbinders die templates.

The canvas is 4x4 inches. I want to warn you, not all adhesives will stick to a canvas! You have to try different things. I normally use a glue product like Mod Podge to adhere paper to a canvas.

Once the base paper was glued to the canvas, I used regular tape runner and foam tape to attach the rest of the paper.

I used the Leafy Squares templates to make a lattice pattern.

My favorite Spellbinders template (currently) is the Bittly Blossoms set! The set makes small, rolled flowers! Love!

I love flowers, and I also really enjoy having birds in the yard. We have some nesting birds in our backyard, but we also have a fountain in the front yard. It's normally very dry here and we are not near a fresh water source. That makes our fountain a congregating spot for lots of little birds! I love to watch them play in the fountain.

Anyway, here is a card I made for Spellbinders. I love this birdhouse stamp from JustRite Stampers.

I colored the image with Copics and then cut it out with a circle die template. The Tear Drop Circles create a nice mat for my little houses. The rickrack on the side...I made that by nesting two sizes of the Square Swatches template!

There you have some spring projects! Thanks for looking.

John 3:15-21

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who lives by the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
