Red and Black, A Perfect Combo!

There are two posts today. Scroll down for the Graphic 45 Gratitude mini,
using the NEW Place in Time collection!

I have three red and black cards to share today. These are the last of the "famous" cards that I made for Hampton Art Stamps for the Summer 2012 CHA event and catalog.

I always get so giddy when anything I make appears in print! It just makes everything more real and special.

This card is one of those that after I made it, I just loved everything about it. I created some step-by-step directions for you. The supplies are listed at the end of the post.

1. Make a black, top fold card 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches.

2. Trim red cardstock 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches and emboss with the Diamonds in the Rough embossing folder. Then trim cardstock to 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches. Attach to card front.

3. Stamp the text from the Vintage Bicycle stamp set onto cream cardstock with Dark Cashmere antiquing ink.

4. Use an ink applicator tool to add Venetian Lace and Dark Cashmere antiquing ink over the stamped image. Allow ink to dry.

5. Stamp the bicycle from the Vintage Bicycle stamp set over the text with Schoolhouse pigment ink. Emboss with clear embossing powder.

6. Trim image into a circle shape. Mat with black cardstock. Set aside.

7. Stamp the World Travel Words stamp onto cream cardstock with Schoolhouse pigment ink. Emboss with clear embossing powder.

8. Use an ink applicator tool to add Venetian Lace antiquing ink over the stamped image. Allow ink to dry. Wipe ink from the embossed areas with a paper towel.

9. Trim image and mat with black cardstock. Attach to the center of the card front. Use foam tape to attach the bicycle to the card front as shown.

10. Stamp one the hinges onto cream cardstock with black dye ink. Color hinges with alcohol markers. Cut image in half and attach each to the edges of the card with mini brads.

11. Add cream cardstock to the inside of the card.

 Yummy products! I love the inks and sprays! On to the next card. Very classy and black tie. {grin}

This is an easy one to make.

1. Make a black, top fold card 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches.

2. Trim printed paper to 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches. Wrap bottom of printed paper with black grosgrain ribbon and secure ribbon to the back of the paper. Attach panel to card front.

3. Create a bow from black grosgrain ribbon using a bow-making tool. Secure bow to the center of the ribbon with an adhesive dot.

4. Stamp the sentiment onto white cardstock with black archival or dye ink. Trim and mat with black and red cardstock. Attach to card front with foam tape.
5. Add white cardstock to the inside of the card.

And last, but my favorite of the bunch.

1. Make a black, top fold card 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches.

2. Trim red cardstock 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches and emboss with the Diamonds in the Rough embossing folder. Rub the embossed cardstock with Jasmine pigment ink and buff with a paper towel. Trim cardstock to 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches.

3. Trim printed paper to approximately 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches. Mat with black cardstock and attach to center of embossed panel, 1/2 inch from the top.

4. Wrap black grosgrain ribbon around the panel at the center, and secure ribbon on the back. Attach panel to card front.

5. Stamp the sentiment onto white cardstock with black archival or dye ink. Trim and mat with black cardstock. Attach to card front with foam tape, as shown.

6. Cut a heart shape from corrugated paper (Gypsy Pack). Spray heart with Crimson glimmer mist. Allow to dry.
7. Glue white mini clothes pin to the heart, and then attach both to the card front with adhesive dots, as shown.

8. Add white cardstock and a strip of the printed paper to the inside of the card.

These projects were also part of the Michael's Stamp-tember event.
