"All Things Altered" Winter Blog Hop

Welcome to the "All Things Altered" Winter Blog Hop! You should be coming to me from Nicole's Blog. If you are lost, see the list of blogs at the end of this post to make sure you visit everyone!

Once again, Pam at Scrapbook Flair organized a group of crafters for an altered art blog hop. She has put together a line-up of 12 designers, all making some sort altered art for you to use for inspiration!

And there are PRIZES! Pam, our hostess (Scrapbook Flair), is giving away an AMAZING prize! Plus, some of the designers are also giving away goodies! Here is a peeky at my prize package!

I am giving away an 8x8 Graphic 45 Curtain Call paper pad, all THREE of the Curtain Call stamp sets, three Colorbox Mix'd Media Inx, and three packages of Graphic 45 Staples! (The Curtain Call collection is now RETIRED, so this is a GREAT prize!)

To be entered to win the main prize package:

1. Leave a comment on all the designers' blogs
2. Sign up to Follow the blogs. (To follow my blog, check the left side bar to see the methods for doing so.)
3. Leave a message on the Scrapbook Flair Blog telling Pam you did what you were supposed to do! {grin}

To win MY prize pack, just leave a comment on this post and I will draw one winner to win it! I would love for you to Follow me as well.

Here is my altered project. I decided to make a simple project that would be great for giving a gift certificate this season, or it would be perfect to hold small items for children, or to hold a little something for a quick and easy hostess gift.

I used a Graphic 45 Small Matchbook Box Staples for my little treat box.

This little box is 3 x 5 x 1 1/2 inches. It is so cute, you will want to make a bunch of them! The box started out "naked" (kraft). I painted it with a coat of white gesso, then used a gel medium to adhere a vintage style paper to all the surfaces. I covered up the hole in the top of the box with paper. I wanted this gift to be SECRET!

I found a pad of Melissa Frances Home for the Holidays paper in my stash and love the soft, snowy look of it.

I also painted a small Maya Road chipboard stocking with gesso, and glued some paper to it. I really dug into my stash for this project. It was fun to poke around and see what I have been hoarding!

The "to/from" chipboard tag is an old product from K and Company, called Christmas Cheer Chipbox. It contains 55 printed chipboard elements in the box and I don't think I have used very many! What a find! It was in the bottom of a drawer! Who knew?!

The other elements are bits and pieces from the floral department and the ornament department of my local Hobby Lobby or Michael's.

Once you have all your paper measurements, this box is a snap to put together.

Here is another of the little boxes that I created for Thanksgiving. For a tutorial, click HERE.

I also made one of the 8x8 size Matchbook Boxes, with a frosted window. To see more, click HERE.

Now, hop on over to Irit's Blog!
