Quick Christmas Packaging

It is pretty rare these days for me to make something just because I want to. Most of my work is for design teams, publication, or other "work." Once in a while I have time to make something for friends or family, or just for me. (I know, boo hoo. But really, folks, sometimes I really do want to make something just for no reason at all.)

I needed some quickie packaging for some small gifts for friends, and this is what I came up with.

Super cute, right?! And easy peasy! I had purchased these polka dot bags from Really Reasonable Ribbon a few months ago and they were just sitting here, taking up space. They were also the perfect size for my little gifts! They are about 5x7 inches.

I placed a cardstock sticker (Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet) on each bag to identify which friend was getting which bag.

For the topper, I stapled the bag closed with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher. I folded a paper doily over the top and attached it with a bit of doube-stick tape. To decorate the doily, I stamped the sentiment (JustRite Stamps) onto cream cardstock and punched it out with a tag punch. (Stampin' Up!) I used the larger tag punch to punch out the red tags to mat the sentiment tag. I added a tiny clothes pin (Canvas Corp.), a bell (Michael's Crafts), and some twine (Really Reasonable Ribbon). Ta-da!

I should note that the tag is an idea that I had last Christmas. A group of friends got bags of goodies decorated with these tags and I had one left over. It is so cute that I decided to re-cycle the idea!

You could use plain lunch bags and stamp on them to decorate them. I buy my doilies at the craft store, in the cake decorating section. If you have die cut templates or an electronic cutting machine, you could cut your own doilies. I was way too lazy for that!

I have to admit that I got so much joy from making these silly bags!
