A Hampton Art Happy New Year!

Hello Blogger Buddies! Happy New Year! It is my turn to share with you on the Hampton Art Blog! You are going to see new and amazing things from Hampton Art and the DT this year! Just wait for it!

I don't normally send New Year's cards, but I have a friend who often sends her holiday cards after the New Year, rather than try to get Christmas cards into the mail during the busy holiday season. It is always a nice surprise to get a card in the mail in January! She has inspired me to try my hand at making a New Year's card for you.

When I think of New Year's, I always think of blue and clocks! It is no secret that I have a love affair with clocks! Especially vintage ones! I have a huge bin of clock-themed stamps. Don't you judge me! They are all slightly different....

Check out that amazing ribbon! I used some white lace and 1/4 inch blue satin ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I stamped the Distressed Clock image onto white cardstock with blue ink. I trimmed the image and mounted it onto dark blue cardstock. (The new year sentiment is a VERY OLD foam mount stamp from Stampin' Up. I save EVERYTHING!)

This is the time I need to tell you about the trial I had finding the perfect blue ink! I must have 50 or more blue ink pads. I really had to pray to find the correct shade! I was threatening to quit the business if I could not find the right color in all of that ink! Thankfully, I think I found it! WHEW!

I stamped the Word Collage Borders image onto a strip of printed paper. I love stamping onto designer paper as it changes the whole look and gives you custom paper!

I like to decorate the inside of my cards to match the front. I stamped a few phrases on the inside and added a second strip of the stamped border.

I hope you all have time to "remember and celebrate" in 2013! Have a blessed and happy New Year! Another thing to remember: if you are going to Winter CHA in Anaheim in January, I will be at the Hampton Art booth on Saturday and Sunday (January 12th and 13th). I will be there each afternoon teaching a make-n-take project! Please stop by and say hello and make the project!

  2. I love your blue card and like how you have designed the inside to match. Must try to remember to do that too as i thinkit truly finishes the card off. Hugs Mrs A.
