Really Reasonable Ribbon May Blog Hop

Welcome! The May Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop starts at the RRR Blog!

You should be coming to my blog from Ginny's Blog. (For the complete blog list, scroll to the bottom of the post.)

Here is a peeky at the RRR May Ribbon Club. It's all Red, White, and Blue!

I created a page layout this time. I decided last year, that if  Bonnie was going to do a red, white, and blue collection each year, then I'd do a page layouts of my dad and brothers, who all served in the military. Last year I did a page of my surviving brothers with my husband and oldest son (see that HERE). This year, I decided to do a layout of my second oldest brother, Larry. (His birthday was yesterday, that is why he got a page layout this time!)

Larry served in the US Navy from 1969-1973 and is a Vietnam Veteran. I am proud of my dad and brothers for serving our country. My dad and younger brother served in the US Army, but my three older brothers served in the US Navy.

I used some ribbon to make "flags" on my page.

I stapled the ribbon flags onto the layout, to keep with that grunge look. But also, I know that a US military file is filled with papers all stapled and in triplicate. {grin}

I used more ribbon to make a ribbon "tail" for the US Navy medallion.

As we get close to Memorial Day, I hope you take time to thank the veterans in your life!

Enjoy the hop! Make sure to leave a comment! I love your comments!

  20. Great project, Gloria. I love the distressing you added. The ribbons add great color and texture. My favorite thing? The way you backed the focal with that aged clock die. Draws the eye right in. You're so clever!
