Day 9 - Graphic 45 The Twelve Days of Gift Tutorials

I am teaming up with the Graphic 45 Design Team for an amazing Twelve Days of Christmas event!

December 1st through December 12th, on the Graphic 45 Blog, you will see a card designed by me, plus a gift tutorial inspired by my card and created by one of the current G45 team!

ETA: The cards in this set are all on a 5x5 inch base. A few of them will need a larger envelope due to "overhang."

On the Ninth Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me...

Nine Ladies Dancing

I created a red, 5x5-inch card. lined with coral/peach cardstock. I matted my paper layers with gold metallic cardstock.

I fussy cut the dancing lady from the Ladies Dancing paper and attached her to the card with foam adhesive. I added some stickles to her dress and shoes for extra sparkle. Yes, this was a rough image to fussy cut with my old eyes! I use sharp, micro tip scissors and a craft knife for my cutting. I am better with the knife than with scissors! {scary thought}

Since this card was going to a trade show, I worried that the lady would bend at the neck. Her head and neck are sticking above the card edge, so I reinforced her head and neck with some heavy cardstock strips in the back.

I love the contrast of the blue and pink on this card.

I created a set of loopy bows and added a glittery snowflake and a velvet and crystal trinket. This lady loves her sparkle! I wrapped some sheer, pink ribbon around the center of the card panels. Then, I tied bows with thin, silk ribbon and some sparkly blue and silver ribbon.

You can see the dimension, but also you get the feel of delicate femininity with this card.

I decorated the inside of the card a round sticker and some strips of paper. I was not able to trim the sticker into a postage shape, so I just kept it round.

Now go over to the Graphic 45 Blog to see Maiko's gift tutorial! I hope you go on to visit at Maiko's Blog! She is from Japan and her style and amazing creativity are beyond what you see here in the USA. I am always stunned and inspired by what she creates.

Remember, leave Graphic 45 a Blog or Facebook comment for a chance to win this amazing prize! A grand prize winner will be announced on the Graphic 45 blog at the end of this event, on Friday, December 13th.

  1. This is unbelievable. I actually have these papers out on my desk this morning for the RRR blog hop. We think so much alike that it scares me sometimes. Guess I'll have to go back to the drawing board. But your card is exquisite...I just love the way you fussy cut the lady (I was going to do that, too. LOL) Hope you are feeling better today. Hugs!
