Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #4

Hello and happy Monday! This is my project for Challenge #4 at the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog! Remember, you have two weeks to play in the new challenge!

Challenge #4 Show Some Sparkle, Glitz, or Glam!
Graphic 45 is our sponsor this month. They are known for their fabulous vintage    products and papers. To pay homage to their glamour and style, create a project         that shows off your hoarded sparkly items. Show some glitz! Pump up the glam!           Use the photo collection below for extra inspiration. You need not match the colors or style of the photos, just use them as inspiration - notice the glass, gems, pearls, metal, glitter! What do you hoard that is "sparkly"?

Here is my project. You know how, when you start a project, and you have a vision in your mind's eye...and the finished project looks NOTHING like your vision? That. Exactly.

I had this little Graphic 45 ATC Book Box...and I wanted to do something with Botanical Tea papers...and birds...and spring. Ummmm, well....that did NOT happen! Once I started playing with the box....this is what happened! I ended up using a combination of Fashionista and Couture papers! I have had the Fashionista papers in my stash since about 2008 or 2009! I love the collection and it works perfectly with the NEW Couture collection, which I am hoarding at the moment!

I started out by using a sponge dauber and inking the edges of the box with black ink. (I was in a hurry and did not want to wait for paint to dry!) I trimming Fashionista En Vogue to cover the outside of the box.

I used images trimmed from a Couture 8x8 pad to decorate the box (Beautiful, Classy, Elegant papers). I added flowers and gems, plus a little clock peeking out. I also added a metal knob for a closure to the edge of the box. I have been hoarding the little metal knob of dog's years! But the little metal thingie ma bob that I used to tie the box closed...that has been in my stash since the 2005 Expo! I remember buying a box of those fasteners! I am such a hoarder!

I wrapped the inside edges of the box with Couture 12x12 Fashion paper. I added a G45 Shabby Chic Ornate Metal Key Hole, with some gems. Yes, I hoard gems! Lots of them! Some are so old that I have to use glue to attach them because the adhesive on the back is no longer sticky! I even have gems that are so old that I purchased them BEFORE people starting selling them with adhesive on the back! {GASP!}

Here is the top of the box. I designed this to sit up like a little book, rather than sit flat like a...well, like a box. Anyway, I glued at Shabby Chic Metal Door Pull to the top of the box, and added some gems. I added more flowers and some postage stamp images.

Here is a view of the spine and the back of the book box. I kept the back plain. I adore this chunky, little book box. It is only 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches - totally adorable (totes adorbs). I have used up the only one in my hoard! MUST buy more! {my precious}

I used another image from the 8x8 pad. Love this quote. Do you love the crown?! I added a gem to it. I purchased a set of crowns in various sizes, and you guessed it, I hoard them.

 I added more flowers and some gems. You can see them peeking out. I also added a tiny Arc de Triumph charm! That has been in my stash for years! Well, I purchased a whole baggie of them! And I hoard them like they are coin of the realm!

Here is the inside of my little book box. I covered the inside with Couture Gorgeous. I added Fashionista En Vogue to the inside of the box. I used another image from the 8x8 pad for the "lid." I placed a tiny gem on the shoe. {wink}

I may make a little tag album for this box, but I may just keep it for decoration or for storing goodies inside, Who knows. This was a "girls just wanna hoard stuff have fun" project!

I hope you had fun today! Make sure you stop by Graphic 45 Blog or Facebook and tell them hello! They are our AMAZING sponsor for both March challenges! Thanks for looking!
