Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #17 posts today!  Remember, you have two weeks to play in the new challenge, which closes October 19th at midnight PT.

Challenge #17 Happy Fall, Y'all!

Many of us like to purchase NEW seasonal products EVERY season. What happens to last year's fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving products? We HOARD them! Drag out those hoarded fall-themed items and make a project to share with us! You can make something for fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, or any other fall or harvest celebration!

Now, it is pretty safe to say that I have a whack of hoarded fall and Halloween supplies! I DO purchase new collections every YEAR. And honestly, how much stuff can I make each season? So, yes, I have a lot of hoarded stuff! I have purchased only ONE new Halloween collection this year...so far... {Don't you judge me!}

I decided to go with Thanksgiving and use some of the fantastic Polly's Paper Studio Digital images that Ginny gave to the team. I used the most excellent Turkey Tags, as well as the Fall Wreath and Tags collage and the NeverMore Halloween collage.

I created a 5 x 6 inch, top-fold card. This is my "new" go-to size. It is just a tad bigger than an A2 card, giving me just a teensy bit more space to junk up!

I dug way into my hoarded papers for this card! I used Authentique Enchanted (from 2012) and Memory Box Blackbird. The Memory Box paper did not have a date on it, but it's pretty old. I also used a bit of My Mind's Eye Spider's Web, which has 2009 printed on it! I have that full collection and have used only a tiny bit of it! {What is WRONG with me?!}

I used some spray mists to "colorize" some flowers. I had a few flowers in a yucky peach/salmon color, so I sprayed them and made burnt orange flowers. {that's how I roll}

I fussy cut some of the Polly's digital images to tuck in with the flowers. I am also big into using cheesecloth and twine right now.

I wanted this card to be very grungy and rustic. I tore the paper to allow the bottom layer to peek through. I mean, come on, I can afford to waste some paper by covering most of it up! It's not like I don't have bins and bins of the stuff!

I added one of the large postage images from the NeverMore Halloween collage sheet to the inside of the card. I also managed to use my own stamps on the inside of the card, in a shameless self-promotional moment. You can find my So Grateful stamp set HERE.

And that, my friends, is my rustic, vintage, Thanksgiving card, using hoarded supplies and some new digital elements from Polly's Paper Studio

  1. Not only did you one-up me, but you made tags and then put them on a card. You just waltzed all around what I did. Love this...it really showcases the tags!

  6. This is just gorgeous! You have inspired me to get started on some Thanksgiving cards, using some of that fall paper I have, and NEVER use! All the layering and peeling back of papers is just so cool, and a look I need to try! The twine and cheesecloth is the perfect touch, as is the inside sentiment and the little postage stamp! Thanks for sharing with us, for your inspiration and for the really FUN challenge, as always!
