Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge - January 2015

Good morning! This project is for Craft Hoarders Anonymous January Challenge. Craft Hoarders has gone to a monthly challenge, rather than bi-monthly. Which gives you more time to create!

Choose Your Challenge
Create any type or style of project you wish, as long as you pick ONE (1) item from each category in the chart below! Choose your cardstock, printed paper, or other base (box, canvas, tray, etc.). Next, choose your adhesive. Finally, from the chart below, choose your coloring medium, fiber, technique, texture, and embellishment for your project! The combinations are almost endless! (You may choose more than one item from each category, but you MUST have AT LEAST ONE from each!) Pull out those hoarded products, have fun, and welcome to a NEW YEAR at Craft Hoarders Anonymous!

I enjoy a challenge that makes me really dig into my hoard, so this was a fun one for me! Here are the items I used: Ink, Markers (to color the pearls), Ribbon, Coloring, Stamping, Die Cutting, Metal, Bling (pearls and sequins).

If you love this paper, then keep an eye out for it to hit the stores soon! It is a BRAND NEW RELEASE from Graphic 45 called Artisan Style! It is filled with saturated colors, flowers, peacocks, and architectural details!

This card is 6" x 4 1/2" - this is my new "go-to" size of card. I was sick of all those bits of paper that I cut off to make 5 1/2" cards, so I just cut out the middle man! I trim a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock to 4 1/2" inches wide, and then score at 6" to make a top-fold card that is 6" x 4 1/2".

Here is a closer look at the Graphic 45 metal keyhole, and those pearls that I "colorized" with a Copic marker. They were white when I started out. And who doesn't love sequins topped with tiny pearls?!

Part of my hoard is a HUGE, GINORMOUS ribbon stash! I have so much ribbon, and yet, I buy more all the time. Bonnie at Really Reasonable Ribbon keeps me well supplied! I am the February Guest DT for the RRR monthly blog hop, so watch for that! Anyway, I found this beautiful, pale orange ribbon in my stash, and it is perfect for my card. The orange is exactly the same shade as the palest orange in the flowers on the printed paper! Unfortunately, I cannot find this same ribbon in the RRR store. It is a 1" width, and just a luscious satin!

Because I love to toot my own horn, I used one of the stamps I designed for my inside greeting. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Your card is absolutely fabulous, Gloria!! You have such a gift for composition. I love the way you have used the circles over the rectangles, then layered in all those gorgeous embellishments! The color palette is luscious as well (another one of your gifts!). You were one of the first designers I discovered when I started paper crafting, and to this day every new project you create inspires me! You're amazing!!

  11. Gloria this card is so gorgeous. I am a Graphic 45 fanatic I have yet to met any G45 product I don't like. I was wondering did you find a good source for envelopes for a 6 by 4 1/2 in card? Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful card with us.
