Craft Hoarders Anonymous February Challenge

Good morning! This project is for Craft Hoarders Anonymous February ChallengeIt is that time of year again...when a crafter's heart turns to pink and lace and cherubs!

How I Love Thee
You may create a Valentine, anniversary, wedding, or other love-themed project for this challenge. You may create something that has the word "LOVE" on it. Dig into your hoard and find all those hoarded hearts and pink sequins and doves and wedding paper that you have been saving for just the right project!

I created a sweet canvas for you today. I am not sure what I will do with this one. Perhaps place it on my entry table for the remainder of the month. The table that is just outside my husband's office door...

I love vintage images, especially these cute Cupids! Back in the old days, they used to send postcards for all sorts of holidays and the images were so adorable! Graphic 45 makes the best use of these images in their paper lines. These darlings are from the Sweet Sentiments collection. This canvas is an 8" x 10" canvas from Canvas Corp

I created the canvas by first painting it with a layer of white gesso, just to prime it and give the inks something to "stick" to. I then sprayed the canvas with a selection of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists: Taffy, Vintage Pink, Pearl. I allowed a few drips to...drip.

Once the ink was dry, I used a stencil and molding paste to create the raised flowers on the top of the canvas. I "dribbled" some Italian Sunset and Taffy Glimmer Mist here and there.

That ginormous, pink, burlap flower is from Canvas Corp. Seriously, that flower is 4 inches across! I hot glued that guy to the canvas. I wanted to create a pretty center, so I glued on a large button, covered with some of the decorative paper. I then added a metal heart, which has been in my hoard FOREVER! I topped it all off with a twine bow. I hoard twine like nobody's business!

I also hoard chipboard items. I have had the chipboard phrase in my stash for a few years! I sprayed it with white Deco Art Media Shimmer Mist. The white mist is more like a paint - it goes on pretty thick. Once it was dry, I sprayed the chipboard with Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist.

You can see that I popped the smaller images and the chipboard phrase a bit with foam tape. I love the extra dimension. Thanks for stopping by today! Have fun creating your own love-themed project!
