Craft Hoarders Anonymous March Challenge

Good morning! This project is for Craft Hoarders Anonymous March Challenge. I also have some very sad news. I am so sorry to tell you that this will be the LAST Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge. After the March Challenge ends, I will NOT be posting more challenges to the Hoarders Blog. I will be concentrating on homeschooling my youngest son, on my family, and on my other design work. The challenge blog has been a fun ride and I hate to say good-bye to it, but all good things come to an end. Please play along and visit with us one last time!

Go Green
Use this color board as inspiration for your green challenge. Make a challenge which has green as the predominate color. Use the other colors in this color board as your accent colors. You may make any type or theme of project that you wish. You do NOT have to use all of the colors represented here, but green must be the star of your project! There must be some green in your vast hoard...dig it out!

Green is a difficult color for me! It is not one of my "go to" colors, however, when I was thinking about what papers to use, I knew I had lots of green prints in my stash! But the main inspiration for this project is that HUGE, green flower!

I created a garden-themed mini album, using a lot of green! I had fun fussy cutting decorations for the cover. I have loved the Graphic 45 Once Upon A Springtime paper since it was first introduced. This winter CHA they re-introduced it in a Deluxe Collector's Edition! Notice that they did not call it "Deluxe Hoarder's Edition"! I fussy cut the three fairies from the paper and hot glued those gals to that big ol' flower!

The green flower is 4 1/2" in diameter! That is one honkin' flower! I have no idea where the flower came from. It has been sitting in a pencil cup on my desk for YEARS! I decided to use it as the focal point on the cover of the mini album.

The chipboard mini album has been in my stash for nearly a decade! I purchased it at one of the first Expos I attended when I moved to California. And that was 10 years ago! I think the company that made it was called Piggy Tales. I have no idea if they are still around or not. This is a waterfall mini, with each successive page approximately 1/4" wider than the preceding page. The book is overall 5 3/4" x 6".

I created pockets for some of the pages. I cut out some of the postcard images and other journaling spots from various Graphic 45 papers to tuck into each pocket. I used some Secret Garden (retired) papers, as well as Botanical Tea, Sweet Sentiments, Place in Time (retired), Time to Flourish

I also used a few Project Life journaling blocks from my vast hoard.

I added a few photo mats as well. The right-hand page is an accordion album for 5" x 3 1/2" photos. I tied the little accordion mini closed with some ribbon.

There is space for 4 photos.

I sure love mixing and match prints and collections. But, wow, is my work space a mess! {grin}

I love all the botanical images, as well as the birds and fairies!

The last two pages!

I fussy cut the flowers and scrolls from the paper. Not an easy job when you are my advanced age. I hope you had fun with this Go Green challenge! Please play along. Thanks to everyone who supported the challenge the past 14 months! I appreciate you very much!

  3. Wow, wow, wow! Nobody does a better mini than you do, Gloria! This is stunning...and so filled with little pull outs and tags and pockets and goodies...all the things I love so much. The paper combination is magical. And I love that giant gerbera daisy on the front cover...that just makes me smile! You are still the Queen of Mini albums in my world. I also want to say thanks for 14 fun-filled months of creativity, camaraderie and challenging challenges. I feel that I have really grown due to being a part of this amazing team, and I thank you for all the hundreds of hours of hard work, the mountain of products you shared with us, the fabulous mentoring and all round good time that CHACB has been. I shall miss it...but to everything there is a season...a time to plant and a time to pluck up. I'm glad you are in tune with the seasons of your life. You know how much I love you....you are the BEST! Happy trails to you! Hugs!!!
