Heartfelt Creations - Tutorial Friday!

Good Morning, Bloggers! I have another tutorial for you. Heartfelt Creations asked each member of the Team to create an extra, step-by-step tutorial for you during the current term. Well, today is my day! I was asked to work with the August Release, Farmers Market Collection and to showcase the stamps. This is what I came up with for you!

I created a 6" x 6" card, with lots of layers, but not big clunky layers! I layered the stamped images to create a pretty image for the card front. Visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog for more inspiration.

Follow along to see how to make a card of your own!

Collect all your supplies (see the supply list at the end of the post). Stamp the apple image from the Apple Harvest Cling Stamp Set three times onto white cardstock using black ink.

Select your coloring medium, making sure to select colors that complement the papers in the Farmers Market Paper Collection. I chose to use Copic Markers to color my images (see the supply list below for which markers I used).

Color the images. By coloring sections on three separate images, we will create a layered image for our card front. Choose which sections of the image you wish for each layer and color those sections on your stamped images. To match the sample, color the images as shown.

Use sharp, pointed scissors to cut out your colored images. Do NOT cut the base image.

Position the fussy cut images over the base image. Use foam tape to assemble the layers.

Use slightly thicker foam adhesive for each subsequent layer. Trim the image to approximately 4 5/8" x 3 1/8". Sponge the edges of the white cardstock with Salty Ocean Distress ink. Matt the image with black cardstock cut to 4 3/4" x 3 1/4".

Stamp the vines from the Jars and Vines Cling Stamp Set with black ink onto white cardstock. Color the vines to match the apple image. Use the Jars and Vines Die to cut out the vines.

Stamp flowers from the Birds and Blooms Cling Stamp Set twice with black ink onto white cardstock. Color the flowers pale pink. Use the Leafy Branch Die to cut out the flowers. (You need 10 flowers to match the sample.)

Trim between each flower petal with sharp scissors. Place the flowers on a foam mat so that the reverse side is facing up. Use the stylus and one of the small tips from the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit to press down gently on each flower petal.

Turn the flowers over so that the stamped image is facing up. Press the stylus firmly into the center of each flower.

Glue three of the die cut vines and 10 flowers to the image as shown.

Shaped flowers and vines give added dimension.

Use your layered image to create a 6" x 6" card. Trim black cardstock to 6" x 12" and score at 6" on the long side to make a 6" x 6" top-fold card. Cut wood plank paper from the Farmers Market Paper Collection to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" and attach to a white mat cut to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8".

Use foam adhesive to attach the layered image to the center of the panel, approximately 1" from the bottom edge.  Wrap a length of green plaid ribbon around the top of the panel, approximately 1/2" from the top edge. Attach the panel to the card front.

Use the oval label from the Luggage and Tags Die to trim a sentiment from the Farmers Market paper. Attach the sentiment to the upper right corner of the card, overlapping the ribbon. Tie a bow from green plaid ribbon and attach to the top of the sentiment tag. Tie a bow from ivory twine and attach it to the top of the plaid bow.

Attach white cardstock, cut to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8, to the inside of the card to allow for stamping or writing your greeting. To mail this dimensional card, add a thin layer of bubble wrap or foam to the inside of the envelope to cushion the layers, or use a padded mailer.

Thanks for looking!
