Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - Joy to the World

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! I decided to whip out the Christmas papers this week!

I have a good reason for creating another Christmas card...really...I do! I had a bunch of stamped and die cut poinsettias on my desk and I wanted to make some flowers...that's it in a nutshell! {giggle} Plus, I had the urge to create something with lots of gold!

Create a 6" x 6" card by trimming black cardstock to 6" x 12" and scoring at 6" on the long side to make a 6" x 6" top-fold card. Cut poinsettia paper from the Sparkling Poinsettia Paper Collection to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" and wrap a length of gold ribbon around the top of the panel. Secure the ribbon to the back of the paper and attach the panel to the card front. Trim striped paper from the Sparkling Poinsettia Paper Collection to 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" mat with deep berry red cardstock cut to 4 7/8" x 7 7/8". Mat the panel again with gold metallic cardstock cut to 5" x 5" and attach the panel to the center of the card.

Use the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares die to trim gold cardstock. Use foam adhesive to attach the decorative square to the center of the card. Stamp the Joy to the World sentiment from the Joy to the World Cling Stamp Set onto deep berry red cardstock with gold ink. Heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Trim the sentiment to approximately 2 7/8" x 2 7/8". Matt the sentiment with black cardstock cut to 3" x 3" and attach to the center of the decorative gold square.

Create a bow from the gold ribbon and glue to the upper right corner of the card. Stamp the leaves from the Large Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set onto Deep Spring Green cardstock with black ink. Stamp the Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set onto Deep Berry Red cardstock with black ink. Use the Large Sparkling Poinsettia Die and the Sparkling Poinsettia Die to cut out the leaves and flowers. Shape the flowers and leaves (watch THIS video to learn how to shape Sparkling Poinsettia flowers), then glue three flowers together to form one poinsettia. Brush the flower and leaves with Light Gold High Impact Mixed Media Paint and allow the paper to dry. Glue gold micro beads to the center of the flower. Glue the poinsettia and three leaves to the upper right edge of the card.

Decorate the inside of the card by cutting paper from the Sparkling Poinsettia Paper Collection to 5 5/8" x 5 5/8" and matting with deep berry red cardstock cut to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4". Matt the panel again with gold cardstock cut to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8". Attach the panel to the inside of the card.
