Welcome to the Craft Hoarders Anonymous May 2016 Blog Hop! My blog is the first blog in the hop! After visiting me, hop over to Donna Idlet's Blog next! For the full list of Bloggers, see the list at the end of this post!
I went spelunking DEEP into the hoard for this project! I have a large (13" x 13" x 3") bin of "vintage" ephemera that I have not opened in ages. I decided to go digging in it, and I found some treasures in there! The main image on the card is something I found on the Internet and printed, who knows how long ago! The flag image has been in the stash for more than 15 years! I kid you not!

I decided to use the motorcycle image to make a birthday card for my brother, who turns 65 later this month. The Graphic 45 Transatlantique paper that was in my hoard turned out to be the perfect color palette for the image! Transatlantique is a retired collection, that I have been hoarding. I still have one unopened package of it. {I know, I know.}
My brother loves motorcycles, but he also served in the military, hence the flag collage image. I used the Atlantic Coast Line image because it has "North Carolina" printed on it...and my brother lives there. So, this card is all about him. I love how it all came together from scraps of this and that out of my hoard!

I do want to actually mail this card, so I kept it pretty flat. I wanted to go back and add some gears and other "junk" to it, but restrained myself!
I stamped a birthday sentiment on the inside, plus there is plenty of space for me to write him a note.

Now, let's go diving in the vault a bit, because, let's face it, I also hoard finished projects! I also have a "injured card bin" where I put cards that need repair or  card fronts that need to be turned into viable cards. I tend to let these pile up and then have "card hospital" once a year or so.

Anyway, a few years ago, I used the same Transatlantic collection (along with G45 A Proper Gentleman and Communique) to make this card:
I love the fussy cut motorcycle man, and in fact, think I may have made this card to the same brother, but never mailed it! It sat around in my card bin for a while, and I eventually gave it to my husband for Father's Day one year. Then it sat in "card hospital" for a while. I loved the card so much, that I ended up recycling the card front into a canvas, which I made for DT work a few years ago.
I simply glued the card front to a 6" x 6" canvas, and added more paper to the canvas edges. I also changed out the stamped images for others and added more metal and gave new life to the card.

Thanks for visiting this month! I hope you are inspired to make (or re-make) something! If you have a "project recycle bin" what do you do with those items?
