Love You Card and Envelope

I am sharing a project for CutCardStock today! I only have a few more posts to go before the end of my term. For those interested, CCS is having a Design Team Call. Click HERE to read all about it! You have until January 31st to apply. I am not going to be applying for next term, as I am trying to streamline my workload a bit. But, tet me just say, CutCardStock is generous with the design team, wonderfully supportive of all the members, and the team is made up of some of the sweetest ladies anywhere!

We are still in "love mode" on the CCS Blog. I have created a 7" x 5" Valentine card, with a gift card pocket and a matching envelope.
One of the many card styles that I enjoy creating is something I call "rustic elegant." For this card I paired wood grain cardstock and a wood token with sparkle ribbon and lace to create a rustic elegant Valentine's Day card.
Create a top fold card by cutting one piece of Classic Linen Natural White Cardstock to 7" x 5". Cut a second piece of the linen cardstock to 7 1/2" x 5" and score on the short edge at 1/2" from the top.

Fold and burnish on the score line. Place Scor-tape on the tab and attach both pieces of linen cardstock together to form a top fold, 7" x 5" card. Round the bottom corners of the card.

Cut Gmund Tindalo Kraft Brown Woodgrain Cardstock to 6 7/8" x 4 7/8" and round the bottom corners.

Trim the dot print from the Prima Tales of You and Me 6x6 Collection Kit to 3" x 4 7/8" and round the bottom corners. Attach the dot print to the woodgrain panel. Wrap a length of vintage pink lace around the top edge of the dot print and secure at the back.

Attach the woodgrain panel to the card front.
Use a doily die cut template to cut a doily shape from Classic Linen Natural White Cardstock. Trim the doily in half and attach one half the the right edge of the card, as shown.
Use a tag die template to cut a tag shape from the linen cardstock (4" x 2 1/4"). Decorate the tag with scraps of paper from the Prima Tales of You and Me 6x6 Collection Kit and stamp a Valentine message onto the center of the tag.

Attach a bow, created from burgundy sparkle satin ribbon, to the top of the tag. Attach a gift card to the back of the tag with a glue dot.
Attach a pre-made gift card envelope to the card front and insert the tag and gift card into the envelope.

Use a tag die template to cut another tag shape from the linen cardstock (4" x 2 1/4"). Decorate the tag with paper from the Prima 6x6 pad.
Use a small heart punch to punch a heart from the woodgrain cardstock and another heart from the Prima paper. Attach both hearts to the top of the tag with foam squares.
Die cut two hearts from burgundy and ivory felt and glue to the tag. Glue a wood token to the tag, as shown.

Wrap a length of pink trim around the bottom of the tag and add a sticker from the Prima 6x6 kit. Use foam squares to attach the tag to the gift card pocket, as shown.
Cut a panel of the linen cardstock to  6 7/8" x 4 7/8" and round the bottom corners. Stamp the top of the panel with a Valentine message.

Cut the woodgrain cardstock to 2" x 4 7/8" and round the bottom corners. Attach the woodgrain panel to the bottom of the linen panel. Add a sticker from the Prima kit, using foam adhesive. Attach the panel to the inside of the card.
The card is finished. Now, let's decorate an envelope to match!
Use a Classic Linen White Pearl A7 envelope. Sponge the edges of the envelope with burgundy ink. Trim woodgrain paper to 1 1/2" x 7 1/8" and attach it to the front of the envelope, as shown.

Decorate the woodgrain strip with images and stickers from the Prima Tales of You and Me 6x6 Collection Kit
