CropStop December ATC Challenge

I have two CropStop posts today, so make sure you see all the fab-you-luss-ness! This post is to share the Monthly ATC Challenge with you. This is my very first time doing the ATC Challenge. I don't make ATCs very often. I'd rather make cards or tags. Since God smiles on me from time to time, it happened that I just made a whole bunch of ATCs so was set for this challenge!

My challenge to you is to make an ATC in the theme of Tim Hotlz's 12 Tags of Christmas. If you don't know what that is see one of these posts here:

2007 Tags
2008 Tags
2009 Tags

Tim starts the 2010 Tags TODAY! Check his blog for details.

I had the chance to take a 3-month class with my friend Lori, making the "12 ATCs of Christmas," which was an altered canvas. So, I'll show you my canvas to help you be inspired to make your tags! You can see that mine is not the same as Lori's...because I never follow directions in class!!!

Here are 11 ATCs - not 12, because...I don't follow directions and only 11 fit on the canvas! Number 11 is supposed to be a door which opens to reveal ATC #12. I did not care for the way mine looked, so just did my own thing, and have just 11 ATCs.

This is a FUN project. I made all grungy and sparkly and distressed.

Below are close-ups of each ATC.

#1 and 2. So many techniques! I had such inky fingers!

#3 and 4. Alcohol inks and paint and paper, oh my!

#5 Embossing with white powder. My favorite Santa and sleigh stamp!

#6 Dry embossing and some Graphic45 paper!

#7 We used this fabbie box...colored with alcohol inks. I added lots of my own bits and papers. Naturally.

#8-9 grunge and more bits of this and than from my stash, including those mini scrabble tiles!

#10-11 Sparkle and vintage. Tag #11 is 100% different from the class sample. I just...needed to use this Vintage Santa image!

Have fun making your tags! Stop by the Message Board and show us your stuff!

I'm entering this in the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #13 - Anything but a card - winter theme.

  1. Gloria, your ATC Canvas is GORGEOUS!!!! Amazing how much you were able to do to an ATC. It's like mini works of art! That is cool you got to take a class to make it. Doesn't surprise me though that you didn't follow along with the class, lol! You're way to creative for that :))))

  5. Gloria, awesome project! Thanks so much for posting your pruject! I'm really glad you "broke the rules", too. It makes it more interesting that way.

I've got a really bad cold and haven't even LOOKED at Tim's tag for day 2 yet...can you believe it? And for day 1, all I did was print it out:( Hopefully, I'll feel better this weekend.
