Really Reasonable Ribbon May Blog Hop - GUEST

Good morning, Blogger Peeps! I am the special guestie again for the May Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop, which starts at the RRR Blog! I want to thank Bonnie for inviting me to play along again this month!

In fact, you should be coming to my blog from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog. (For the complete blog list, scroll to the bottom of the post.)

Here is a peeky at the RRR May Ribbon Club Assortment

I always love a red, white, and blue assortment! My project today is a bit of a TEASER! I am only going to show you the cover of the mini album. To see the rest of the album and the tutorial, you will need to come back and visit me on May 20th! {insert evil laughter here}

Here is the story. I wanted to create a big, complicated project. I have not created anything of this scope since last fall. I have to work a lot more slowly than in the past. So...I have the cover and a few inside pages finished, but the bulk of the album won't be ready for about a week. You will just have to wait!

This book is 5 x 7 x 2 inches, with a flap closure. I created the cover from scratch using WorldWin Papers heavy weight chipboard. It will have 6 pages (12 pages front and back) when it is finished. I am using mostly Graphic 45 Good Ol' Sport papers. (I will be sharing a tutorial for creating the base of the book!)

I used the RRR blue printed grosgrain ribbon (with boats) from the May Ribbon Club for the left side of the cover. I simply turned the ribbon "inside out" and used the back, which is a solid blue. I used Scor-tape to attach the ribbon to the album.

I created a small rosette with the blue diamond satin from the Ribbon Club. I glued the rosette to a tiny binder clip (which keeps the album closed), and then I added a metal button to the top of the ribbon. I tied a bit of the hemp cord to the button.

To decorate the spine of the album, I made two "tails" from the blue diamond satin ribbon. Then, I glued a flattened bottle cap to the top of the ribbon. I made a rosette from the cream lace that came in the May Ribbon Club, which I glued to the bottle cap.

I used a circle punch to punch out a few circles from black cardstock. I punched an image from the printed paper with the same size circle punch. I stacked all the circles to make a center for the rosette. Now, I have a winner's ribbon...of sorts.

I created a small pocket to hold "mini magazine covers" for the front of the album. I wrapped some jute rope around the pocket.

To see the whole album, including a tutorial for making it, visit me next week! You won't be disappointed!

That's all from me! Now, hop over to Ginny's Blog next!

Here is the RRR Blog Hop Order in case you get lost!
