It is that time of year again...time to make Christmas gifts and cards! I love the idea of handmade or decorated gift bags...so how about this burlap sack from Canvas Corp?!

I used the Large Burlap Shoulder Bag for my project. This bag measures 11 1/4" x 15" and has a nice, long strap! It is the perfect size for a large or odd-shaped gift! Just stuff with some gold or silver tissue paper, and you have the perfect gift wrap!

The burlap sack comes ready to decorate, no sewing needed! I used double-sided tape to attach the lace from the Lace Trimmings Assorted Pack. (If you are handy with a sewing machine or with fusible webbing, those are a better option than the tape. But, I am NOT handy with sewing and could not find the fusible web!)

I sprayed the Petaloo burlap flowers with a selection of glimmer mist and mistable paint. For the red flowers, I first sprayed them with Fire Baseboard Mistable Paint to give them good coverage. Once the paint had dried, I sprayed the flowers with Pearl Glimmer Mist to give them some shimmer. I sprayed a few flowers with just the pearl mist, and others with Gold Glimmer Mist. The flowers dried naturally and not a bit stiff! 

Once I had the lace attached, I used double-sided tape to attach the red ribbon and the snowflake paper border to the front of the bag.

Using hot glue, I glued the burlap flowers to the bag. I also added some Petaloo velvet flowers and leaves. 

Every bag needs a gift tag! I used a Graphic 45 Regular Kraft Tag as my tag base. I trimmed a piece of Silver and Kraft Diamond paper to fit the front of the tag. I trimmed the image from Farmhouse Christmas Tags on Ivory paper and matted it with red cardstock before placing it on the tag.
 
I used one of the burlap flowers, which I sprayed with pearl Glimmer Mist before painting the edges of the petals with Fire Baseboard paint. A bit of ribbon and a sugared berry complete the tag!
