Are You a Domestic Goddess?

A Graphic45 Domestic Goddess that is! This paper line is the feature on the Graphic45 Blog today! DT member Laura made an AMAZING mini album with this collection, and I made...what else...a card!

I love sewing notions, fabric, dress forms, patterns, and so forth. But I cannot sew to save my life. My one goal in the next year is to take a sewing class to learn some basics! It's a shame that I never bothered to learn to sew since my mom and many of her sisters are quilters. Live and learn! Being a non-sewer does not keep me from loving sewing paraphernalia!

I collect pins by the ton, it seems. Nothing says vintage to me like sticking a pin in it! I also used the fabbie G45 papers to make some fabric swatches by trimming around squares and rectangles with pinking shears!

On the inside of the card, I put more swatches and a fun element cut from the paper. I am not much of a "service with a smile" kind of gal, so this saying always makes me giggle a bit. My kids and husband are always in shock when I actually cook something! Since I've been a "domestic goddess" for 18 years, I think it's ok to give up a few of the jobs, right?! Like cooking and dusting? To make more time for paper crafting!

Graphic45 Christmas Emporium Layout

I LOVE Christmas papers...and I double LOVE vintage Christmas papers. So, when I saw the new Christmas Emporium paper from Graphic45...I was so happy I almost piddled on the floor!

Seriously?! What's not to love?!

Now, loving the paper is one thing, using the paper is another story. I am NOTORIOUS for taking bad photos at Christmas. Not sure if it's my camera settings, the tree lights, operator error...something! I was searching and searching for a good photo to use for my CHA sample. I finally found one of my youngest, taken when he was about 2 years old. (He's almost 11 now!) But, man he was cute!

For my background I used the Graphic45 Timeless collection from Core'dinations. It's so pretty! Love the texture! (Click on the photo for a larger view!)

I love to create collages with my chipboard elements. The NEW Graphic45 chipboard items are perfect for this technique!
I hope you are inspired to scrapbook some of your Christmas photos, vintage or current!

Graphic45 and CHA

I am home from CHA, safe and sound. It was so hot in Chicago that I was never so happy to see the backside of that place! However, I had a blast at my reunion and at CHA! Here are some pictures, mostly from the Graphic45 booth at CHA!

I stayed across the street from the Convention Center. YAY me!

These are my peeps: Kellie, Patience, Me, Beverly. We meet up every 2 years, but this year only the 4 of us could make it out of our group. These gals are my rocks! I love them all like sisters! We are showing off our bags that Patience had made for us. She was our reunion hostess this year! And she did a FANTASTIC job! I am thrilled they got to go to CHA with me!

Here I am at the Graphic45 booth. The most attractive booth at the show, again!

This is the Magic of Oz part of the display. Just over the top beautiful!

This folding screen display is a hit every year! I can see a bunch of my projects on this display. All of the team did such a fab job this year!

ABC Primer display. I love this vintage junk! Or junque! So inspiring!

More ABC Primer.

Christmas Emporium! Super yum. This section of the booth was hard to photograph...well all of it was due to the hoards of people!

Some of the Graphic45 gang: Sherry Cheever, Lynnette Carroll, Charee Filimoehala, Me.

Sherry Cheever and me. I was so excited to finally meet Sherry. We are on the Graphic45 team together and we are both with Spellbinders teams. I've been a fan of her work for a long time, and was so happy to hang out with her. She's a hoot and a half! I think we cannot spend too much time together or we may get into TROUBLE! {grin}

This is me with Angie Crockett, my pal from Christian Paper Crafts. It was a JOY to meet her in person. She's about the sweetest thing ever.

And last, but not least, is the CropStop Crew! Haylie Jo Wiltshire (the owner of CropStop), me, Vicki Robertson (the DT coordinator). They are both...just as wonderful in person as on the phone! After 3 years of working with CropStop I was jumping up and down that I got to meet the "boss ladies" in person.

So there you go. Photo credits go to my pals Kellie Rosa and Patience Bertana! Thanks for letting me "borrow" some of your photos! Y'all are the BESTEST!

My Projects are Spellbinders Video Stars!

Spellbinders has a new video up, and three of my projects are shown! How cool is that?! If you watch the video, which showcases the NEW Spellbinders Boxes and Envelopes, you can spot my "babies."

My projects are the red LF-008 Hexagon Pinwheel Top Boxes in front (they are red) and the LF-007 Hexagon Petal Envelope, which is propped against the Advent project, and is also red. (Stacey picks up the Hexagon Petal Envelope at 1:01 in the video and the Hexagon Pinwheel Top Boxes at 4:47 in the video.)

These boxes and envelopes are "must haves" if you create any gift goodies! They are a dream to work with!

Christmas Emporium - Hampton Art/Graphic45 Stamps

Ok, last Hampton Art/Graphic45 stamp reveal! It's no secret how much I love vintage Christmas! These stamps are amazing! The new Graphic45 Christmas Emporium papers were not available yet, so I used papers from the Christmas Past, which was released last year. But, once you see the new line, you will see how they coordinate!

I colored the images with Copics, then sponged some ink for a background. Then I cut a snowflake (Spellbinders die template, see supply list below) and stamped the sentiment into the center. I also sponged some ink onto the snowflake and added some pearl bling.

No vintage card is complete without pins and flowers, right?!

Another thing I love about Graphic45 paper, is that there is usually a black/cream combo in each collection! I love working with just those colors.

Adding kraft to black and cream gives i such a natural feel. I loved this image just stamped in black, without color! And is that sentiment not BEAUTIFUL?!!

I hope you enjoyed this peek! I'll have a peek with the NEW Christmas Emporium papers on Monday! Stay tuned!

Graphic45 ABC Primer Collection

Summer CHA Sneak Peeks!

One of the NEW collections from Graphic45 is called ABC Primer. I've been begging Diane for the past two years to do a school line. I think she did one just to shut me up! {wink} This is my NEW favorite Graphic45 line! I love and adore vintage school images.

One of my favorite photos is this one of my mother-in-law, taken when she was about 5 or 6 years old. I've scrapped the photo before, but it's so perfect for the new paper, that I scrapped it again!

The patterns of the ABC Primer paper line look so nice together. To make each print pop, I backed the paper with black cardstock. This is a technique I use a lot in card-making, but it works very well for scrapbook pages also. I tend to use a lot of "wasted" paper and cardstock due to layering, but...the end result is worth it!

I hope you enjoy all of the sneak peeks you are seeing around the Internet! If you keep an eye on my blog, you will see more to come!

Supply List:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Designer paper: Graphic45 ABC Primer (One Two, Buckle My Shoe, Grammar School, The Three R's, Games and Playtime, Building Blocks, Tags 2)

Tools: Grand Calibur machine from Spellbinders, Die templates form Spellbinders (S7-018 Big Scalloped Border Grand Borderabililties)

CPC Sketch Tuesday #116

I have to tell you that I am NOT at my computer today...I scheduled this post last week...because I am in Chicago this week! This is CHA week, plus I am having (I hope) a FANTASTIC time with my three bestest long distance pals! {waves to Beverly, Patience, and Kellie} And am missing April and Jamie! Wish you gals were here, too! The 6 of us try to have a girls' reunion every other year. Sadly, only 4 of us could make it this time. {sniff sniff}

Anyway, here is CPC Sketch Tuesday #116! Remember, we are only having the sketch challenge every 6 weeks now, so the next sketch will be posted August 30th.

Here is my card. I finally had time to use my new Gina K stamps. Super cute!

I snagged this new Authentique paper at my LSS. They don't normally carry 6x6 pads, but for a change they had some in stock. woot woot!

I used Spellbinders S4-203 Contemporary Hearts Shapeabilities Pendants to cut that fabbie "doily"! Yum!

ABC Primer - Hampton Art/Graphic45 Stamps

Can you stand more stamp reveals?! I am over the moon about this ABC Primer set from Hampton Art Stamps and Graphic45! When Hampton Art asked me to make samples, the matching paper was not yet available from G45, so I used some older G45 lines. But it just proves how amazing and versatileG45 paper is! And let me say these stamps are a DREAM to work with!

For this first card I used paper from the A Proper Gentleman line.

To create the tan background paper, I stamped images onto kraft paper with black and brown dye ink. I colored the image with Copics, naturally!

For this next card, I used papers from the Baby 2 Bride line. So soft and pretty!

I used pale Copics so the coloring would look almost like chalk. However, for me, coloring with Copics is easier and faster than messing with chalk!

For the last card I used the Playtimes Past paper line. You can see how well it works with the new stamps!

This image was so fun to color! The next time I use this one I think I'll paper piece that umbrella!

If some of these cards seem familiar, it's because I pulled out some of my old sketches and used them for inspiration. There is nothing like having a "go to" batch of sketches to help you give your creativity a boost. Well, having NEW stamps is a pretty big boost also! I hope you enjoyed this sneaky peeky!

The Magic of Oz - Hampton Art/Graphic45 Stamps

Once again Graphic45 has teamed up with Hampton Art Stamps to create a line of stamps to match Graphic45 paper! Hampton Art stamps approached me about making samples for their CHA booth again this year. And I said....duh! YES! Here are two I made for them using The Magic of Oz stamps.

I stamped the image, then colored it with Copics. I sponged the background with Clearsnap ink. The ribbon was originally black and white, but I sprayed it with Clearsnap Smooch Spritz.

The flower is made from die cuts and a bingo number. (See the supply list below.)

The next card is one of my favorites. I love how it came together!

Again, I stamped the image and colored it with Copic markers. Then I sponged with Clearsnap ink. Since I used Spellbinders die templates, I was able to emboss the die cut shapes, then ink while the cardstock was still in the template.

The ribbon is seam binding that I sprayed with Clearsnap Smooch Spritz.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill Raven, Walnut Cream; Neenah Classic Natural White
Designer paper: Graphic45 The Magic of Oz (Journey to Oz, Munchkins, Goblin Gazette, Emerald City)
Stamps: Graphic45/Hampton Art Magic of Oz 1 and 3
Ink: Copic Markers, Clearsnap Colorbox Chalk (Ice Blue, Gray Whale, Tangerine, Yellow Cadmium), Clearsnap Smooch Spritz (Green Olive, Tea Party), Memento Tuxedo Black
Embellishments: Wood Bingo Number and leaf pins from Maya Road, Ribbon from craft store, Seam binding from Lawrence Schiff, Twine from May Arts, button unknown
Tools: Clearsnap ink applicator tool, Spellbinders Paper Arts die templates (S4-310 Labels Eighteen, S4-110 Classic Ovals Large, S5-050 Rose Creations, S4-190 Labels Four, S4-309 Labels Four Small, LF-190 Grand Labels Four), Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine
Adhesive: Scotch 3M ATG and foam tape, liquid glue
