Graphic 45 Wedding Card

Honestly, folks, the blog is having a very dry week!  I have been busy making "secret" projects, plus busy with life in general. I wanted something to post, so I went searching my folders for items that had been overlooked during the past 6 months. I found this card in my files, and I don't think I have shared it with you. I made it back in the spring and sent it to my niece for her wedding.

I created a 5x5 inch card, my "go-to" size using Graphic 45 Secret Garden paper. This card is pretty busy, with a lot going on. But the pops of purple really draw it all together..

I wanted to have touches of purple, so I "grounded" the purple flowers with a strip of the purple paper and a bit of lavender ribbon. I cut the flowers with Spellbinders die templates and rolled the shapes into miniature roses.

My card is quite thick, and not a standard size. I had to find a padded mailer to mail it to my niece. I try to keep a stash of padded and cardboard mailers on hand since most of my cards are not "post office" approved!

I decorated the inside of the card with one of the Secret Garden cut-outs. I love the calendar on this image and thought my niece could circle the month/date of her wedding.

I stamped the wedding greeting on the inside, and made sure to leave plenty of space for a gift card or special message.

ETA: I had an email asking about measurements for this card. The card is 5x5 inches, so the banners measure about 4 1/2 inches for the long, skinny one and about 3 1/4 inches for the shorter, chubby one.

On another note, my prayers go out to my country on this memorial day. 9/11/01 was such a terrible day for this current generation. My prayers to out to those still suffering.  I have been having a bit of a hard time myself, as 9/9/13 would have been my brother's 46th birthday. I miss him every day, but the pain is less this year than last, and I know that time heals most wounds. May The Comforter come alongside us and give us peace!
