Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - Peacock Garden

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! It is also April Fool's Day but there are no tricks here! Just pretty flowers to welcome spring!

Next week we start with a new collection, so be ready for that! It is one that is right up my alley! But for today, I am sharing Peacock Paisley again! I cannot get enough of the purple, blue, and green in this collection! Plus, I love to make flowers! Here is the tutorial for this beauty!

Create a 7" x 5" card by trimming black cardstock to 7" x 10" and scoring at 5" on the long side. Trim chevron print Peacock Paisley paper to 6 7/8" x 4 7/8" and attach to the card front. Trim paisley print Peacock Paisley paper to 6" x 4" and mat with black cardstock cut to 6 1/8" x 4 1/8". Attach the paisley panel to the center of the card front with foam adhesive.

Use the Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance die template and cut out the largest shape from white cardstock. While the cardstock is still in the die, sponge the paper with Iris ink. Attach the die cut shape to the center of the paisley panel with foam adhesive. Use an oval die template to trim a peacock image from Peacock Paisley paper. Attach the image to the center of the card with foam adhesive.

Stamp the flowers from the Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the flowers with Daffodil and Papaya Cream ink. Use the Delightful Daisy Die to cut out the flowers. Sponge the tips of the flowers with Iris ink. Shape them and set aside.

Stamp the flowers from the Botanical Rose Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the flowers with Pool ink. Use the Botanical Wings Die to cut out the flowers. Sponge the tips of the flowers with Iris ink. Shape them and set aside.

Stamp the flowers from the Arianna Blooms Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the flowers with Iris ink. Use the Arianna Blooms Die to cut out the flowers. Shape them and set aside.

Stamp the three smallest leaf images from the Open Leaf Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the flowers with Turtle ink. Use the Classic Leaf Die to cut out the leaves. Shape them and set aside.

Create a flower cluster at the lower half of the peacock image, as shown. Create one large and three small yellow blooms, one large and one small purple bloom, and one large and one small aqua bloom. Arrange the flowers as shown on the sample. Trim the leaves apart with scissors and tuck them behind the flowers.

Add a pearl to the small aqua bloom. Use the Arianna Blooms Die to cut one stamen from black cardstock. Glue the stamen to the large purple bloom. Use Glossy Accents to add purple micro beads to the center of the large purple flower. Add gold micro beads to the center of three yellow flowers. For the remaining flowers, shape the center petals into buds. Use the Luggage and Tags Die to trim out the Birthday Wishes sentiment from the Peacock Paisley paper. Glue the sentiment to the left edge of the flower cluster.

To decorate the inside of the card, trim white cardstock to 6 7/8" x 4 7/8". Attach the white panel to the inside of the card. Trim a strip of chevron print Peacock Paisley to 1 1/4" x 4 7/8" and attach the strip to the bottom of the white panel. Trim the a piece of paisley print Peacock Paisley paper to 7/8" x 2 7/8" and mat with black cardstock cut to 1" x 3". Attach the paisley panel to the left side of the chevron strip. Use the Luggage and Tags Die to trim out the Have a Beautiful Day sentiment from the Peacock Paisley paper and attach the sentiment to the top center of the white panel.

Graphic 45 NEW Collections Feature!

Good Morning! I am so excited to be featured on the Graphic 45 Blog today! In my role as a Project Designer, I mostly create things for the Retail Market rather than for the G45 Blog. But, once in a while, G45 kindly asks me to create a few extra things to share with our Readers! They sent me the NEW winter release collections and asked me to make a few cards. So...here you go!

Grab a cup of something and sit down with your feet up! This is a long post!

I created this card with the Home Sweet Home Collection. This is a collection that I have asked for ever since French Country came out. I told Diane that I wanted to see a sort of "farmer's wife" country collection, and here it is! {yay}

I love the colors and prints of this collection. I ended up using just a tiny bit of the paper, after all that fussing to get my hands on it. Mostly because I am hoarding it for a larger, mini album project! I don't get as much free stuff these days, so I have to hoard. That's my story and I am sticking to it!

I used Spellbinders and Heartfelt Creations dies to create some "fabric" flowers from the paper. I dabbed the flowers with white paint to make them a bit more shabby.

I think the kraft cardstock and the ivory lace adds to the country feel of this card.

The tag die is one that has been in my hoard, but I had not used it before (Spellbinders Framed Tags One). I love the "stitched" edges of the die cut.

I decorated the inside of the card as well. Naturally!

The next collection that I used is the NEW Precious Memories Collection. This collection is a perfect match for the retired Little Darlings Collection! I have loads of Little Darlings in my hoard, and I was so happy to see this new, updated collection to "match"!

I created this baby girl card with lots of pink and with lots of vintage flair by using embossing and twine. I have recreated this card (in slightly different design) for a charity event workshop that I am teaching in April. The event benefits babies and mommies, so what could be better than creating sweet baby cards?!

I not only embossed the background cardstock, but I also embossed the ATC tag. Rubbing a bit of tan ink over the embossing gives that shabby look. I fussy cut the little dresses and clipped them to the twine "clothes line" with tiny clothespins.

Part of the shabby charm of this card is the bow and buttons!

Here is a peeky at the inside!

I decided to do a boy version, but this time I created a card suitable for twins!

I have created a more simple version of this card for the charity event, too. I just adore the sweet prints in this collection, plus the added bonus of those adorable images!

I created a stacked feature for the card with a heart doily die cut, some ivory twine, and a fabby, double satin bow!

I added some embossed stars and a button.

And the inside, with a stamp from the Little Darlings collection.

I hope to make more cards from this collection to donate. I am at an age where my friends and family are no longer having babies, and in fact some of my friends are already grandmas! It is very rare for me to need a baby card. But, donating them is the next best thing!

The last NEW collection is the Artisan Style Collection

I actually created this card for Craft Hoarders back in January, but I will share again here. I do love the colors and some of the prints in the collection! It is very rich!

Graphic 45 certainly hit the ball out of the park with the new Winter Release! I am sure you will see more projects with these collections, as well ad the Deluxe Collector's Collections in the days and weeks to come! In fact, I recently made a project with the NEW Once Upon A Springtime Collection. I was part of the G45 team when this collection hit the shelves the first time. It is still wonderful.

See see all of this mini album, click HERE.

Time to Flourish was released in November 2014 as a pre-release collection. I have been creating projects with that collection for the Retail Market. I was also asked to create a Snapguide project for our Fans! I used the March Time to Flourish papers and a bit of left-over Secret Garden (retired).

One of my favorite color combinations is purple and green! I love the March Time to  Flourish. I cannot wait to be able to share the March project sheets with all of you, which will be in a few weeks. In the meantime, this is just a taste of what you will see with that project set!

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - Clean and Simple Card Set

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! I told you last week that I was indulging in a clean and simple phase. I think this may be the first time EVER for me to use only white cardstock with stamping! Don't faint!

I have to admit, it was extremely hard for me to stamp and color and step away! I had to do deep breathing exercises and hold an ice pack to my head! However, the stamps from the Peacock Paisley Collection as so pretty, that they deserve to shine!

Create two 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card bases by trimming two pieces of aqua cardstock to 11" x 4 1/4" and scoring at 5 1/2" on the long side.

For card one, trim white cardstock to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and stamp the flower image from the Feathered Daisy Cling Stamp Set onto the center of the cardstock with black ink. Color the image with alcohol markers. Stamp the sentiment from the Beautiful You Cling Stamp Set on the top left corner of the white cardstock using black ink. Using a paper piercing stencil and the piercing tool from the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit, pierce around the edge of the white cardstock. Attach the image to a card base with foam adhesive.

Stamp the daisies image from the Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the daisies with alcohol markers. Trim out the flowers with the Delightful Daisy Die. Shape the flowers and glue three flowers to the card front as shown. Set the other flowers aside to use for card #2. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and attach to the inside of the card.

For card two, trim white cardstock to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and stamp the large image from the Daisy Flourish Cling Stamp Set onto the center of the cardstock with black ink. Color the image with alcohol markers. Stamp the sentiment from the Beautiful You Cling Stamp Set on the lower left corner of the white cardstock using black ink. Using a paper piercing stencil, and the piercing tool from the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit, pierce around the edge of the white cardstock. Attach the image to a card base with foam adhesive.

Glue two larger die cut flowers to the card front as shown. I used a "crumpling" technique to shape these flowers. While the flower is damp, simple "squish" each petal and allow to dry. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and attach to the inside of the card.

For those who doubted that I could achieve a CAS card, pthththbbbtthth. {grin}

Canvas Corp Brands - Beach Themed Invitations

Welcome! Canvas Corp Brands issued a new challenge to the Crew - this time we were asked to make invitations! I decided to create a beach-themed invitation to a 30th wedding anniversary party! My husband and I will celebrate 30 years in 2017 and it's never too early to think about a party! {grin}

This invitation set includes a 5" x 7" invitation card, a 4" x 6" RSVP post card, and a matching envelope.

I collected all of the beach-themed items from my stash. I knew I wanted to use turquoise for the base color, and then add black, kraft, and ivory colors. For a full supply list, see the end of the post.

Trim the Sand and Sea Art paper to create six panels. The invitation front panels will contain one of the six unique images.

To create the invitation, trim turquoise cardstock to 7" x 10" and score at 5" to create a 5" x 7" left-fold card. Trim the turquoise print paper from the 7 Gypsies Maritime paper pad to 4 7/8" x 6 7/8" and attach it to the card front. Mat one of the Sand and Sea Art images with turquoise cardstock and attach the image to the front of the card with foam adhesive.

Stamp the "You're Invited" sentiment onto the Scallop Chalkstock tag with white ink. Emboss with white embossing powder. Trim out the sentiment with a tag punch. Sponge the edges with white ink and attach to the upper right corner of the image with foam adhesive. Tie a slip knot into a piece of Turquoise Hemp Rope and glue to the tag. Attach a black mini clothespin to the tag.

To decorate the inside of the invitation, trim anchor paper to 4 7/8" x 6 7/8" and attach to the left panel. Trim kraft cardstock to 4 7/8" x 6 7/8" and attach to the right panel. Print invitation information onto white cardstock with black ink and attach to the right panel. Trim the decorative border from the Beach Sampler paper and attach to the bottom of the panel. (This paper is retired, however, the Beach Sampler on Ivory paper is available.

Create an RSVP post card by trimming out one post card from Black and Kraft Post Card paper (4" x 6"). Write in the return address with a black pen. Create an area on the left side of the post card for guests to indicate attendance. Add a postage stamp for guests' convenience.

Decorate the reverse side of the post card by trimming a 4" x 6" piece of Black and Kraft Compass (retired) and attaching it to the post card. (Since this paper is retired, you may wish to use another paper from the Sand and Sea or Sails and Shells Collections.)

Stamp the "Happily ever after" sentiment in the top left corner of the post card with white ink. Emboss with white embossing powder. Tuck the RSVP card into the invitation.

Decorate an A7 (5 1/5" x 7 1/4") kraft envelope with a strip of the Maritime paper and an image punched from the Beach Sampler on Ivory paper. Place a strip and punched image on both sides of the envelope, at the bottom edge. Tuck the invitation and post card into the envelope. (If using the clothespin, you may need to add a bit of padding to prevent the envelope from tearing during delivery.)

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Making cards in bulk is never easy, but I hope that this inspires you to give it a try for your next party!

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - Clean and Layered Cards

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! The new Peacock Paisley Collection was released last week, and what a beautiful set of images! This collection contains oodles of stunning stamps! I decided to create  a few Clean and Layered cards to show of two of the stamps!

I have to admit, Clean and Simple and her cousin, Clean and Layered, are not styles with which I am comfortable! However, as my dad used to say, even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and again! Or, as "they" say, sometimes, you can catch lightening in a bottle! All that jibber jabber to say that I think these two cards turned out GREAT! I think green and teal are my favorite "spring" colors! But, I needed a bit of grunge, too! {smile}

Create two 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card bases by trimming two pieces of blue calypso cardstock to 11" x 4 1/4" and scoring at 5 1/2" on the long side. Stamp the daisies image from the Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the two smallest daisies with alcohol markers. Trim out the flowers with the Delightful Daisy Die. Shape the flowers and set aside. (Save the remaining flowers for another project. Come back next week to see how I used the "leftovers"!)

For card one, trim white cardstock to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and attach it to one blue calypso card base. Trim All Geared Up striped paper to 5 1/4" x 4" and attach to card front.

Stamp the flower image from the Peacock Swirls Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the image with alcohol markers.

Stamp the "beautiful day" sentiment from the Beautiful You Cling Stamp Set at the bottom of the stamped image using black ink. Use the Spellbinders Classic Rectangle die to trim the image. Attach the image to the center of the card front with foam adhesive. Use the rectangles dies to trim a rectangle frame from pale green Peacock Paisley paper. Attach the frame to the top of the stamped image with foam adhesive.

Glue three aqua pearls to the bottom right edge of the frame. Tie two loopy bows, one from black burlap string and one from iridescent white metallic string and glue them to the lower left corner of the frame.  Stamp the "have a" sentiment from the Beautiful You Cling Stamp Set onto pale green Peacock Paisley paper. Trim out the sentiment with the rectangle die. Mat the sentiment with blue calypso cardstock. Attach the sentiment to the top of the loopy bows. Tuck one die cut daisy under the upper left corner of the sentiment block. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and attach to the inside of the card.

For card two, trim white cardstock to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and attach it to one blue calypso card base. Trim All Geared Up striped paper to 5 1/4" x 4" and attach to the card front. Use the rectangles dies to trim two rectangle frames from pale green Peacock Paisley paper. Glue one frame to the center of the card, at an angle. Trim the second frame in half, and arrange the pieces at the upper left and lower right of the card front as shown.

Stamp flower with buds image from the Feathered Daisy Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the image with alcohol markers. Stamp the "thanks" portion of the Antique Lantern Cling Stamp Set on the bottom left of the stamped image using black ink.

Use the Spellbinders Classic Rectangle die to trim the image. Mat the image with blue calypso cardstock. Attach the image to the center of the card front with foam adhesive, overlapping the green frames. Glue three aqua pearls to the bottom right edge of the image. Tie two loopy bows, one from black burlap string and one from iridescent white metallic string and glue them to the upper left corner of the image.  Attach the second die cut daisy to the top of the string bows. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and attach to the inside of the card.

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - March Release!

I am so excited to be able to share the NEW March Collection from Heartfelt Creations - Peacock Paisley!

This collection has stunning colors of blue, green, and yellow! The colors and images are just beautiful. This new collection comes with: 6 stamp sets, 1 matching die, a 12x12 paper collection, and a card kit!

I created a jewel of a card to share with you today.

The colors of this collection, not to mention the use of daisies, paisley, and peacocks make this one of my NEW favorite collections from Heartfelt Creations. I created this card and sent it in early, and it got a tiny screen credit in the video HERE....at 12:09 minutes in the video. {grin}

I used a new technique (new for me). I colored with Prismacolor pencils onto dark paper! I have never done that before! In fact, I have rarely used my pencils. I purchased them a year ago, and they have barely seen the light of day!

To make this 6" x 5" top-fold card, trim dark blue cardstock to 12" x 5" and score at 6" on the long side. Trim Peacock Paisley paisley print paper to 5 7/8" x 4 7/8 and attach the paper to the card front. Trim dark green Peacock Paisley paper to 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" and mat with dark blue cardstock cut to 4 5/8" x 3 5/8". Attach the panel to the left side of the card, approximately 1/2" from the top. Trim pale green Peacock Paisley paper to 5 1/4" x 2" and mat with dark blue cardstock cut to 5 3/8" x 2 1/8". Attach the panel to the left side of the card, approximately 1" from the left and 1/4" from the top.

Stamp the peacock image from the Peacock Swirls Cling Stamp Set onto dark blue paper with clear embossing ink. Heat emboss the image with white embossing powder. Color the image with colored pencils. Use the Spellbinders Grand Ovals die template to trim out the image. Use the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals One die template to cut a decorative oval from white cardstock. Attach the image to the decorative oval with foam adhesive. Using foam adhesive, attach the image to the right side of the card front, approximately 1/2" from the top.

Add gems to the centers of the flowers on the stamped image.

Stamp the flowers from the Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp Set onto dark blue cardstock with clear embossing ink. Heat emboss the flowers with white embossing powder. Color the flowers with colored pencils. Use the Delightful Daisy Die to cut out the flowers. Shape them and set aside.

Stamp the small leaf from the Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp Set twice onto white cardstock with silk green pigment ink. Heat emboss the leaves with clear embossing powder. Color the leaves with colored pencils. Use the Delightful Daisy Die to cut out the leaves.

Create a flower cluster at the lower left edge of the peacock image, as shown. Trim the leaves apart with scissors and tuck them behind the flowers. Add gems to the centers of the flowers.

Use water and distress inks to dye 1 yard of natural seam binding. Allow to dry. Iron if desired. Tie a loopy bow with the dyed seam binding and attach it to the upper right corner of the card. Add a gem to the center of the bow.

To decorate the inside of the card, trim white cardstock to 5 7/8" x 4 7/8". Attach the white panel to the inside of the card. Trim a strip of pale green Peacock Paisley 1 1/2" x 4 7/8" and attach the strip to the bottom of the white panel. Trim the "Celebrate" sentiment from the Peacock Paisley paper and add it to the right edge of the pale green strip. Using black ink, stamp the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Tarnished Gears Cling Stamp Set onto the white panel.
