The January Ribbon Club is called Sweetheart Assortment. I confess that I am not ready for Valentine's décor quite yet! But, needs must, as they say. I love this assortment of pink, red, and white! I am pretty traditional when it comes to holiday decorations and stick to traditional colors most of the time. 

For my project this month, I made a home décor piece that I have been wanting to try for a while now! 

I keep seeing cute décor items made to look like a stack of little books, and they are super cute. But they are so expensive for what you get! I decided I could make them with my stash of supplies and some wood blocks I found on Amazon, and ta da! 

I got a set of four wood blocks (3" x 5" size) for less than a pre-decorated item I saw at Hobby Lobby. {I also bought a set of four wood blocks in the 6" x 4" size. Because, why not?!?}

I covered the wood blocks with paper from my stash, because I am STILL trying to use what I have on hand. This paper collection is called Kissing Booth from Simple Stories, released in 2018! It was still sealed and in pristine condition! I mean, gang...really! 

I wrapped and secured the ribbons around the blocks then added some bows to the top. I used the 5/8" Pink Taffeta and the 3/8" Retro Truck Valentine on White Satin. That truck ribbon is adorable! 

I added a Red Cottage Rose and two Peach Rose Buds to the top of the bows. I also "sprinkled" a few enamel dots around. 

Here is a view of the back. I created a little 3 1/8" x 4 1/8" card out of black cardstock for the top of the display. I added a little cardstock tab so that I could glue the card to the top of the stack of "books."

I used a few stickers from the paper collection and more enamel dots. 

I plan to place this either onto one of my tiered trays or onto one of my buffet tops to decorate for Valentine's Day. 

My goal this year is to have ONE tiered tray that I can change out with seasonal décor. I am working on a 12-month project to help with this, but because I know myself, I started with the JUNE item in hopes that I can get the June-August pieces finished in time, and then stay ahead. But....best laid plans and all that! I will share that project with you once I am a little further along and can share a good sneak peek! {smile}
