Welcome to 365 Cards Inspiration Week! Our Teamie, Manoli encouraged us each to chose a word for the new year. This should be a word that inspires us in some way. Pam gave us each the challenge to choose our word and create a card with our word as inspiration. This week, Pam is giving away an extra PRIZE, so make sure you stop by the 365 Cards blog and see how you can win!
I chose Wisdom as my word. Most of you regular readers know that my family had to deal with a lot in 2010, and with my father-in-law now struggling with cancer, 2011 is not shaping up very well. The one thing I've been praying about is that the Lord give me the wisdom to make the correct choices...choices that will set me on the path He has for me. Psalm 111 says "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding." And James 1:5 says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." To illustrate "wisdom" I chose a scripture stamp from Unity Ippity that says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." That's Proverbs 3:5. I memorized this Scripture a few years ago...because I always struggle with "doing it my way."
I used some Webster's Pages papers that I've been hoarding. The butterflies also represent new life, to go with this new year. I also de-hoarded a tiny bit of that fabbie rose trim. Don't worry, I still have most of a yard left! {grin}
I cut and embossed my scripture block with my trusty Spellbinders Nesties. This is such a simple card for me, but...the paper really needs no embellishment!
I'm entering this card into these challenges:
Stampin' Sisters in Christ - New theme
Really Reasonable Ribbon - Heart theme (ok, a stretch, but I have the word "heart" on my card!)
Love your card! You are right, the paper is so beautiful that it does not need embellishing. I just found your site through the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge. I am so glad I did. (And by the way I can SOOOOO relate to hoarding suppies :)
