This week is "Cards Week" on the Graphic 45 Blog. I love me some cards! I enjoy all aspects of papercrafting, but admit to loving card-making the most!
Here is a gift set I made using the Little Darlings papers. I tend to give gift cards for pretty much every occasion, and always like to make small items to accompany the gift cards. I find that altered photo albums are a big hit with new moms (and new grandmothers). I also like to alter jumbo clothespins. They make a great photo holder for a desk or counter.
To make this 5x5 card, just cut a bunch of squares of various sizes, then trim them in half on the diagonal. Mix and match your prints and, ta-da! I love the blues in this paper collection. It's a soft baby blue that is pretty easy to match with ribbons and other trims.
The ribbon is blue corsage ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I love that stuff. I have it in several colors. It sparkles just a bit! To create the button embellishments, I put a pearl brads through the button holes! Genius!
This little photo album is one of those you can get for $1 at most any discount store. I altered the covers, making it a one-of-a-kind brag book. Easy!
Last, is this jumbo clothespin. I have a big box of these. I ordered some and when they came they were discolored. I emailed the company and they sent new ones, and said keep the "bad" ones. At any rate, I ended up with a lot of jumbo clips!
I painted this one white, well it was already white, but it was one of the "bad" ones, so I painted it again. Then I added some paper, and fussy cut the little baby...so cute! I created a little gift tag to go in the clip. The recipient can replace the little card with a photo or a small scrapbook page.
Hope you enjoy Card Week at Graphic 45! Remember, the new TEAM is announced on Friday. I have a tummy ache thinking about it!!!!! I want to be on the team again so badly! I will be back later today to draw a winner for the Altered Blog Hop!
