RRR August Blog Hop!

Welcome! The August Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop starts at the RRR Blog!

You should be coming to my blog from Dawn's Blog. Is she amazing, or what?!

Check out the RRR August Ribbon Club. All gray and purple! Ohhhh, ahhhhh!

I decided to go all Halloween on you, and, I did NOT make a card! How is that for shaking it up for the last month of summer?!

I made an 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch home decor piece. I was playing with the ribbons and the new Graphic 45 Happy Haunting papers, and decided to make a chipboard piece instead of a card. Disclaimer: normally, I don't like using witches or things like that, but these boots...I just love them for some reason! It's what Mary Poppins would wear if she went Trick-or-Treating! {giggle}

To create this display, I cut one square of chipboard to 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches and one to 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches. I covered both pieces with paper and rubbed the edges with black ink. I used foam tape to pop the smaller piece up a bit, for depth and dimension.

I wrapped the larger chipboard with the grape shimmer satin from the August Ribbon Club.

I used some tiny gears for my little tag. The fun part was punching the "creepy" boarder and then attaching it to the metal gray diamond satin ribbon with Scor-tape. I used a double thickness of foam tape to pop the boarder up.

I colored the image with Copics, then while the image was still in the die template, I sponged with two colors of ink to make a "spooky" background.

I used Spellbinders templates to cut out the parts for my flowers. I inked up the petals, then added some floral items and a metal pocket watch. Beware, it is almost midnight!

Once again, I am not wildly creative with the ribbon, but at least you can see how to add ribbon to just about any project by treating it the same way you would a strip of paper. Scor-tape or fabric glue works great to adhere the ribbon. I personally like Scor-tape as it does not show and is really sticky.

I hope you enjoy the hop! Make sure to leave a comment! I love your comments!
