Really Reasonable Ribbon November Blog Hop

Here is a peeky at the RRR November Ribbon Club Assortment. This assortment is called Country Holiday.

Does this collection make you want to eat cookies or what?!! I love these soft, retro-country colors! For some reason, these colors remind me of the 10 years we lived in Minnesota! The country theme was all the rage back then and these colors were the "in" colors. It's nice that my past is now "in" again!

I had a perfect idea for my project using the brown ribbons, and then, it went wandering off on its own! I had colored some stocking images and they matched the pink and purple ribbons! I ended up with a card and a gift card holder in a very non-traditional Christmas theme!  

The card is a standard A2 card. I used just two bits of printed paper to coordinate with my main image (both are retired 6x6 pads). The stocking is from a Power Poppy set called Poinsettia. This set was on back order for a while, but I finally snagged it last month! 

I colored the image with Copic markers. I had some issues with the blending, which I hope I am learning about at boot camp! {grin} After I colored the image, I added some sparkle with a glitter pen. 

The sentiment is from the Simple Joys set, which is a NEW release. (I do not work for Power Poppy, I am just a HUGE fan!)

Now, let's talk bows! First, I wrapped the Rosewood Satin Swirls Ribbon around the top of the panel. I overlapped that with the Wild Rose Swiss Dot Grosgrain Ribbon.

I tied a big, 3-loop bow with the Rosewood Satin ribbon. I then made a smaller 3-loop bow with the Amethyst Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon. The amethyst ribbon matched the ribbon on the stamped image perfectly!

I glued the amethyst ribbon to the top of the rosewood swirl ribbon. I wrapped a piece of the wild rose dot ribbon around both bows and glued the whole mess to the card! I added some metal bells and a few decorative buttons as well.    

I created a gift card holder from a small envelope and a second stocking image. The envelope is about 4" x 2 3/4", the perfect size for a standard gift card. 

I folded the top of the envelope down to "square off" the top of the envelope. Then, I added a bit of decorative paper to the bottom of the envelope. I flipped the Rosewood Satin Swirls Ribbon over so that just the plain reverse was showing and wrapped it around the bottom of the envelope. I made a double bow from the Sage Green Quatrefoil Print Satin Ribbon and glued that to the center of the envie.

To decorate the top of the envelope, I stamped a sentiment (Power Poppy Cozy Cupfuls) and cut it into a banner shape. I added a mat and a bit of printed paper before wrapping the sentiment with Ivory Burlap String. I recently found Funkie Junkie Boutique and snagged some of the Christmas charms (I snagged a bit more than that)! I added the stocking charm as well as a tiny bell o the twine bow.

I colored a second stocking image, using a deeper rose color and a green bow. I added a bit of the  Wild Rose Swiss Dot Grosgrain Ribbon to the top of the image to act as a pull. I used removable glue dots on the back of the stocking image to attach a gift card.
