365 Cards - Monday Monday

As I am the Monday Girl at 365 Cards, I have another card for you. The challenge for today was this picture inspiration, provided by Pam. I confess I've never done a photo or ad inspiration before. I don't know why exactly...just never have taken up the challenge! Pam stretches me out of my comfort zone all the time! But I love her for it! Honest!

I loved the red color of the photo, but then again, red is my favorite color! I was also intrigued by the drops of dew. So here is the card I made. It's another 6x6, which is my favorite size. It does stink that the post office has a fit over this size and charges extra to mail them! Especially if they are lumpy!

I found this Basic Grey paper at the LSS the other night...it's actually Christmas paper! I have a challenge at my LSS club this month to use paper that is for a holiday for something other than intended...so I think I did that! Anyway, I really loved the red in the paper, and also loved the flowers and leaves, and of course the bird. I love Basic Grey paper as it's so beautiful that you can just make a card in the blink of an eye with it! I feel this card looks so amazing, but it is all in the paper!

Can you see the drops of "dew" on my card?! I added them with Paper Glaze. It took a while to dry, but the drops dried clear and really do look a bit like dew. I printed a sentiment from my computer. I felt it matched the mood of this beautiful paper perfectly. Lately I've really enjoyed creating my own sentiments using all the fun fonts on my computer. Maybe there is a stamp company out there that needs to hire me. What do you think?

I also want you to see the paper roses! I am in LOVE with these things. Even more so than stickpins! But they are hard to find in the US and expensive! However, Haylie Jo at CropStop pulled some international strings and got some in the store! (No, she did not create a black market smuggling ring!) However, if you like them, better rush over there and get some before they are all gone!

Thanks for visiting me today. I hope to have some more things for you to see later in the week. I had a long meeting at church today, and then it was really hot here today so I got nothing crafted all day! Tragedy! Have a great week!
