365 Cards - Days 286 and 287

I'm playing along again for the Friday and Saturday 365 Cards challenges. I'm late getting this Friday card up, for two reasons: 1) I did not get a photograph of it until this morning and 2) I hated it and was just going to toss it in the "recycle" pile. But, I took pity on it and decided to post it anyway.

The challenge for Day 286 was a white space challenge. Using the sketch below, you are to make a card, but do NOT put anything into the white areas.

Now...white space challenges are like putting me in a box and sealing it with duct tape! I really don't do well with them! But I really did try. Here is my card:

I made a green card, then added the Making Memories paper, punched with my new Martha Stewart icicle punch. The ribbon was in my stash. The sentiment is MM, popped with some foam tape. I then punched some snowflakes with EK Success punches. But, I was so unhappy that I embossed the green paper with a brass stencil.

I added some tiny pearls to my snowflakes. Lame card, but the best I could do with this challenge. Better luck next time!

The challenge for Day 288 was to make a card using ONLY stamping. You could have cardstock and stamps. That's it. Well, I just yanked out a bunch of stuff and did some collage art!

I used my new Tim Holtz and Rubber Stamp Concepts stamps that I got at the stamp show last month. I have a lot of postage art and vintage-style stamps. They are my favorite stamps. I also have a lot of Paris themed stamps. This is the point where a husband-type person would ask why I needed more than one of any type of stamp...but you folks won't be so annoying as to ask that! Right?!

I went crazy with my distress inks and my postage deco scissors!

I think the sentiment is Anna Griffin or Melissa Frances. I tossed the original packaging and cannot remember which.

Nothing spectacular today. I'll have my sketchy Sunday card tomorrow, so check back.
