The Little Shabby Box Card Contest

I tried out for The Little Shabby Box design team a few months ago. I did not make the team, but I still think their kits are wonderful. (My former MOSD teammate, Marcie, DID make the team! And her work rocks!) I was excited to see that they were having a card contest on their blog (click here). Winners get to pick a kit (or kits) AND snag a guest DT spot. So...I am entering these two cards.

We were given two sketches and told to make NEW, NEVER BEFORE SEEN cards based on the sketches. Here is sketch 1.
I made a 5.5x5.5 card using SEI Playday cardstock and paper. I changed up the sketch just a little (you knew that I would). Instead of a flower, I fussy cut the kangaroo out of the SEI paper. It's hard to see in the photo, but the paper is flocked and glazed.

The greeting is a studio g stamp I found in the $1 bin at Michael's the other day. Check out the flowers that Mrs. Kangaroo is holding! I love those mulberry flowers.

I popped the kangaroos off the page a bit to add some dimension.

Here is the second sketch:

I made a standard A2 size card for this one. Again, I interpreted the sketch a bit.

The paper is My Mind's Eye Abbey Road. I ended up using the die cut shoes, but I blinged them up with some Basic Grey and Hero Arts rhinestones and a glittery flower.

I am not sure where I found the yummy velvet ribbon. The sentiment is something I created in Word and printed. I cut it out with my circle Nesties.

Now, let the best cards win!

PS - the shoe card also matches the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge for this week - which was to "add bling" to your cards. I always have to kill two birds with one stone!
