Really Reasonable Ribbon Guest DT!

If you are looking for the 365 Cards Blog Hop post, click HERE.

A few weeks ago Bonnie at Really Reasonable Ribbon asked me to fill in for one of her regular designers. After about 6 seconds I said YES! As you know I am a big hoarder, I mean lover, of ribbon, so how hard was it to say yes to Bonnie's request?! She was worried since she wanted me to post today, Black Friday. Since I have NO INTENTION of leaving my house today, I said sure! Nothing better to do today except craft! And blog, naturally! And luckily for Bonnie, I'm not traveling for the holiday.

I have three cards to show you today. Bonnie sent me a nice package of ribbon to work with, so all I had to do was pick some paper and create! The ribbon colors are simply stunning! It was a joy to work with!

This first card is a vintage Christmas theme - what else?! I used the Moss Olive Swiss Dots Grosgrain (3/8") ribbon. The color is so rich! I went perfectly with the Pink Paislee Father Christmas papers. (This is not Graphic45, just in case you were wondering.)

The knotted ribbon made the perfect backdrop for my floral arrangement. I used Martha Stewart branch punches and mulberry roses, plus a tiny pine cone from the craft store floral department to mimic the greenery in Santa's wheelbarrow. I can't remember where I got that star pin...in a kit I think. Either Apron Strings or my LSS club. Had to be a kit....because...I ONLY HAVE ONE OF THEM!!!

Just a bit of grunge for this card, not over the top grunge!

For the inside I used a Stampin' Up stamp and two images from the Pink Paislee 6x6 pad. I cut the images with deco scissors. Old school, baby! It's hard to see from the photo, but I also stamped on the images with a "canceled postage" stamp from Studio G.

This card is for 365 Cards Day 267 Vintage/Stickpin and Day 269 Vintage/Distressing. (Yeah, I combined two of the challenges. Pam will just have to deal with it!)

This next card is a bit more contemporary. I colored this very cute Sugar Nellie stamp with Copic markers. I used Red Gingham (3/8") ribbon this time. Gingham ribbon is my favorite. I just love the county feel of it and it's perfect for this little image.

To make my fabbie bow, I used the Bow Easy Tool. I make pretty good bows, but I can never get both tails behind the knot! With the Bow Easy, you ALWAYS have a perfect bow...and both tails are in the back, right where they belong!

The papers for this card are all from the Pink Paislee Father Christmas line, but you can see, I did not really make a vintage card with them!

I used another Stampin' Up stamp for the inside. You will notice that most of my Christmas greeting stamps are older. I have a hard time buying NEW Christmas stamps when I only use them once a year! There is nothing wrong with the old stamps!

For this next card, I went with sparkle! I used Stickles glitter glue for the snowflakes and needed some ribbon with shine to go with it. (The stamps are from Papertrey Ink.) The RRR Monthly Ribbon Club (November 2010) had the perfect ribbons for my card!

The wider ribbon is the Shimmer Satin Silver (5/8") and the snowflake ribbon is the Silver Snowflake Grosgrain (3/8"). I layered the ribbons to give everything more dimension. You know how much I LOVE layers!

The paper is all from the My Mind's Eye Frost line. I think this is either last year's line, or maybe even from 2008! I have tons of Christmas paper, and in my not so humble opinion, this is just as fantastic now as it was when it first came out!

And check out that icicle punch (Martha Stewart)! This is as close to snow and cold as I'll get here in So. California! Brrrrrrr!

I used more Papertrey Ink stamps for the inside (well, the snowflake is Inkadinkado). This last card is also for the ABC Challenge blog. They said I is for Ice and Snow. Check!

All of these cards are for the Simon Says Challenge - Let it Snow.

I hope you enjoyed my guest DT spot for Really Reasonable Ribbon! Make sure you check out the Challenge Blog to see more fantastic work! And to for a chance to win some prizes! Plus, get a coupon for the Black Friday Sale!!!
