I thought you may like to see a some of my favorite projects from the past year. I got the idea from my crafty pal, Amy! It's fun to look back and see what you've created! Here are my top 12...or so....
January: It will surprise you to see that my January favorite is a page layout! I created this for a challenge at Faith Sisters.
That is me when I was about 2 or 3 years old. I love this layout because of the stamping and distressing, and the circle flower I made, and I think it was my first use of mulberry paper flowers! Plus I used a pencil eraser to make the black circles on the title block! To show how clever I am!
February: Yep! Another page layout! I created this for my final project when I tried out for the Spellbinders DT. I did not make the DT and they kept the layout!
I love this layout! I love everything about it. Especially the layers and the doily. That is my mother-in-law in the photo. Wasn't she adorable?!March: Ok, finally a card!
I had just started to use Copics when I made this card. I love the Cosmo Cricket papers! This is one of those cards I cannot part with. I gave it to my daughter for her birthday, and she promptly handed it back as she knew I wanted to save it!April: Naturally my fav from April has to be this project I made for the finals of the Graphic45 DT spot! It's a 6x6 box and a matching card.
I made the G45 team, and have been so blessed and thankful to be part of such a wonderful company! I love this project because I used a lot of different techniques and used paper in interesting ways.
May: I have two favs for May. I love the Asian vibe from the first card. It's simple and I just love it. Not my "normal style" but...maybe that's why I like it so much!
Besides, it has embossing! How can you not love that?! When I was a little girl my dad's friends took care of me for an extended period of time and the mom was from China. Under her care I learned to love the culture and food of her country. I will always have a soft spot for Asian themed items!
My second favorite project from May is this layout I did with Graphic45 papers. The photo is from our anniversary trip in 2007. Again, I love all the layers and distressing!
June: Alas, the June project is NOT a Father's Day card!
I adore this Lockhart apron stamp and think using it to paper piece the image is adorable! There is just something about this cute little card that I love.
July: My fav for July is a card I created for Summer CHA, for the Graphic45 booth. I love the paper and everything about this card. It's another one that I cannot part with! Again, it's the layering and all of the extra elements that I love.
August: My August fav is a mini book I made with one of the funky Punky Spouts albums.
This is one of those rare projects that I made just for me. I used black and white drawings from an old book to show what I love about the state of California. As I approach 6 years as a resident of CA, I wanted a way to remember what I love about living here.
September: Another card made the list for September!
Another keeper card. I love how all the grungepaper flowers turned out! It was my first really success with making my own roses! And the Tim Holtz birdcage is so fab!
October: Another grungy card.
October: Another grungy card.
I love me some grunge! I also had fun covering the chipboard letters with paper from an old book. It's a great technique!
November: Two cards made the November list. And they are very different! They show the two sides of me, I guess...old and grungy vs new and fresh! (Some folks will say the only thing fresh about me is my mouth!)
I used my favorite Graphic45 paper line...Steampunk again. There is nothing I love more than my Spellbinders Nestie dies! I just want to use them on every card!
For this one I used all my favorite October Afternoon papers, plus a fun image colored with Copics. I have been enjoying coloring! I hope this is a craft fad that says around for a while!
December: I already told you that this next card was my favorite of all the Christmas cards I made.
I love the layers, the colors, and the rosette! It's just a classy card, and uses paper that is NEW and not stuff I've hoarded!
So that's it. My crafty year in review! Hang on to your hats for a fun 2011! I hope you will continue to visit me and leave comments! I will try to learn new things and share what I know. I wish all of you a Happy and Blessed New Year!
