Each of us was asked to bring a small item that reflects where we are from - our state or region or country, to use as an "ice breaker" or "get to know you" swap. Well, I am the only gal living in Southern California, and I said...what's the most So Cal thing you can think of...Surfer Dudes! Right?! I jokingly told the gals I'd bring them each a surfer dude (and they were super excited to hear that)! So...I stamped this Loralie Designs image (thanks, Pat!) and colored him with Copics. He's perfect! What a hoot!
I created this little gift bag for each of the girls. I used some Woodie paper from My Mind's Eye to make a band on the bag. (For those that don't know, the car on the paper is called a Woodie.) Then, I hand cut a sign for each bag. I stamped a MFT greeting on each sign. The flip flops and surf board are a Spellbinders die (S4-272 Surf's Up).
I used a Stampin' Up jewelry tag punch to create a price tag for my flip flops, then stamped "CA" onto each tag. Love it! I used some distress ink to ink up my die cut images. They are so fab!
I created a topper for my bag by inking a doily, then folding it over the bag. To keep the bag closed, I used a clothes pin! I simply glued the die cut surf board to the clothes pin! Ta da!
Every goodie bag needs goodies...so I filled my bag with other CA things:
Besides the Surfer Dude bookmark, I put in a recipe for California Fish Tacos, a package of ice plant seeds, and some Ghirardelli chocolates! Fish tacos are "the" food out here, and in the spring the blooming ice plant is AMAZING to see! And of course what is a bag of CA goodies without Gharardelli chocolate?!
Love it, but chuckled when the first thing I noticed of the goodies was the recipe card (from you!) seriously the fish taco recipe was a great idea! Know you are having an awesome Arizona time, can't wait to hear about it.
