Graphic45 and Scrapbook Adhesives Blog Hop - Day 3

It's blog hop central around here! I have another blog hop for you this week. This time it's a fabbie hop between Graphic45 and Scrapbook Adhesives. The folks at Scrapbook adhesives treated the Graphic 45 team to a whole pile of fantastic goodies to play with! Here is what I made.

I used larged chipboard birds and the Christmas Emporium collection to create a banner that says: PEACE. Each bird is 9 x 4 inches. These are a bit too large for tree decorations or gift toppers, but they make a lovely banner for the wall or fireplace mantle. (Click on the photo for a larger view.)

The first thing I did was alter the large chipboard letters. I painted each letter with Ranger Picket Fence Distress Stain. While the stain was still wet, I sprinkled the letters with a layer of White Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. I heated the powder, making sure that it was uneven and aged-looking. Once the letters were cooled, I rubbed the surfaces with Clearsnap Colorbox Creamy Brown Fluid Chalk ink.

I treated each chipboard bird as a mini canvas, attaching a letter to each bird, then decorating with a selection of Graphic45 Staples and other items. I used Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares and Adhesive Sheets and  to attach each each letter.

I coated the large Metal Tag Staple with glue, then sprinkled on a coarse glitter. What a cool look for the metal tag!

I used Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runner® Permanent Tape and My Stick Permanent Strips to cover each bird with Christmas Emporium paper. The My Stick adhesive was perfect to use on the curves of the chipboard!  I distressed the edges with ink and a sanding block.

I distressed a Metal Flower Staple with  Iridescent Mica Pigments (see the tutorial here). I also added some distress stain to the Button Staple.

Each bird has a large, cream bow tied to the top. The ribbon is May Arts silk ribbon that I purchased from Really Reasonable Ribbon. This ribbon is pure luxury!

I used a selection of paper flowers to decorate my birds. I've added some Stickles glitter glue to give them sparkle.

I gave each bird a pretty little eye by attaching a pearl to each.

Graphic45 has a nice selection of chipboard and paper elements that can be used to "jazz up" your creations. Here I paired some chipboard elements with a Maya Road decorative envelope.

Each bird canvas has unique features and no two are alike. But, they work together to make a lovely banner!

To create this sparkly flower, I coated the metal flower and button with glue, then sprinkled them with German glass glitter! This large, chunky glitter, is really bits of finely broken glass! It's stunning on the metal!

I used a selection of Scrapbook Adhesives products, including the new My Stick Dispenser. Can you see that I customized my dispenser?! You can add paper to the handles to personalize your dispenser! They are refillable, and fun to use!

Now that you have seen my project....I need to tell you that there is a CONTEST. You could win the amazing prize pack pictured below! Visit the Graphic 45 Facebook Page and leave us a comment for your chance to win!
