This is my second post for today. To read about my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, scroll down or click HERE!
The other big news is that Graphic 45 is teaming up with Paper Crafter's Library this week! There are projects, prizes, tutorials, the works! Stay tuned to the Graphic 45 Blog and to Paper Crafter's Library to see all the action! You will be blown away by the material on the PCL blog today! Just wowza!
Graphic 45 showed this layout of mine on their blog today. I created this layout for the Graphic 45 booth, Winter CHA. The photo is a vintage image from Magic Moonlight Studio. For design work, I am not ashamed that I use "fake" photos. I am a crap photographer and have no shame about borrowing photos from other people!
The Tropical Travelogue collection is filled with vibrant colors. I love tropical flowers and the Paradise Postage paper is my favorite! I used a craft knife to trim all around the postage to create a frame for my photo. Then...what better way to showcase the paper than to create flowers out of it?!
I used Spellbinders die templates, Graphic 45 Flower Staples, and a few paper flowers from my stash to create this floral masterpiece! I used ink and mist to change the color of the Graphic 45 flowers. To make the yellow hibiscus (the ones with black centers) I inked WHITE paper flowers with yellow and orange ink, then added a black brad to the center.
I used Copic Markers to change the color of the Metal Door Plate and the Metal Button Staples. You need to go over the metal a number of times, letting the ink dry between each coat.
The last bit of "beauty" is the chipboard elements. I inked them with gray ink, and then sprayed them with mist to turn them silver.
I loved making this page. Making flowers makes me HAPPY! And this is a whole lotta happiness!
