Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #47

Time once again for the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge! This week the challenge calls for a project to celebrate Mother's Day (or it can be a feminine card), plus ribbon. In the USA, Mother's Day is May 13th this year. My mom and my mother-in-law are still with us, so I need to make two cards. One down, one to go! {wink}

I stamped, colored, and paper pieced this cute little My Favorite Things image back in March, at my girls' retreat. I've been saving her for this card. This little girl reminds me of my mom when she was a girl in the 1930s. Mom seemed to be wearing overalls in every photo taken of her! (Not as cute as THESE overalls!)

I stamped the sentiment onto printed paper, then used Hampton Art Glue Gloss to attach it to a Tim Holtz clear fragment tag. I tied the tag onto the card with Berrylicious Baker's Twine.

I love grosgrain ribbon. It always works for casual-themed cards! For this card I used Yellow Gold Grosgrain, in 3/8 inch width.

I created the rolled rose with Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms die templates. This is my FAVORITE template! I love making rolled roses!

I hope this inspires you to make a few cards for the women in your ilfe: mom, sister, friend, teacher.

  3. The plaid overalls and matching socks...inspired. Precious card. My mom is in Heaven, as is my m-i-l. But I might make a card for my daughter in law. I think she would like that.
