RRR Challenge #55

The other day, I posted a few school-themed cards; you can see them HERE. That was a preview to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge for today! The new challenge is to make a school themed project, plus ribbon.

I made a card and matching bookmark.  I recently purchased the two "A La Mode" stamps from My Favorite Things and the bookmark die from Taylored Expressions, and had to use them! (My friend Melody is on the design team for BOTH of these companies, and she enables me shamelessly!)

To decorate the card I used Poppy Red Diamond Satin, Daffodil Checkerboard Satin, and Red Mini Pom Pom trim. I colored the image, then paper pieced the pencil. The paper is, of course, Graphic 45 An ABC Primer!

The card and bookmark are for my daughter. She loves to draw, and is very good. I want to encourage her to keep at it. She plans to start taking some art classes at a local college next semester as a dual enrolled high school senior.

To create the bookmark, I used the bookmark die to cut three layers, two from printed paper and one from cardstock. I sandwiched them together to make the bookmark sturdy. I stamped the A La Mode girl and colored her with Copics, then cut her out and glued her to the book mark. The "Teacher's Pet" stamp is a joke: the RRR team teases me about being teacher's pet, plus my daughter is homeschooled...making HER a teacher's pet also! {hee hee}

I used Beacon Fabri-tac to attach the red pom pom trim. Poppy Red and Lemon Double-faced Satin ribbon worked great to tie a knot at the top of the bookmark.

Make sure you check out the rest of the sample at the RRR Blog! And enter your project to win a prize!
