Merry Christmas, "Deer" with Hampton Art Stamps

I must confess a love of all things Christmas, and the more old-fashioned, the better! I grew up in a German community in Pennsylvania, commonly known as "Pennsylvania Dutch." We had a lot of traditions at Christmas-time. I miss my roots at the holidays, but making vintage-inspired cards and home decor, making all the remembered foods, decorating, singing carols, giving to others, all makes it easier to be so far away.

It is my turn to share on the Hampton Art Stamps blog today. They have AMAZING Christmas-themed stamps! Check out the catty!

My card takes me home with the old fashioned colors, the pine cones, the promise of snow.

These colors make me think of cranberries, ginger cake, and sugar cookies!

To create the festive deer, first stamp the Christmas words (Hampton Art Stamps/Art Warehouse Believe in Christmas) multiple times onto cream cardstock with brown chalk ink. Die cut the stamped message using a reindeer die cut (Sizzix Tim Holt Alterations Reindeer Flight) . Ink the edges of the deer with pale brown and red inks. Die cut a second deer from chipboard. Glue the stamped deer to the chipboard, decorate with a flower and leaves, then mount the image to the card with foam tape.

Stamp the Christmas greeting onto cream cardstock with red ink, then trim it out with a die cut shape. I used Spellbinders Labels One Small, then trimmed it down to fit under the decorative panel. While the die cut shape was still in the template, I inked it with with brown ink.

I created a bouquet from a paper flower and some items trimmed from floral picks and wreaths. I purchase the mini floral elements, which are to be used in floral arrangements, at the craft store. I then cut them apart to create items for my papercraft projects.

I decorated the inside with some paper and a Christmas stamp (Hampton Art Stamps/Hot Fudge Studio Merry Christmas). {sorry for the blurry shot!)

This card has a bit of dimension, so you would need a padded envelope in order to mail it.

Thanks for stopping by today!
