Happy Mother's Day!

I want to wish all the moms out there a very Happy Mother's Day! My mom is 84 and lives in North Carolina, and my mother-in-law is 74 and lives in Connecticut. Since I live in southern California, I never get to spend mother's day with either of them. Sadly. If your mom is still with you, I hope you had a chance to see her today, and hug her neck!

In honor of the day, I made a pretty card for all of you! I am up on the WorldWin Papers blog today, so you are seeing another of my "no printed paper" cards. It sure is a challenge for me to skip the Graphic 45 printed paper, but I am having fun!

I created the card base with Elan Metallics Candied Violet cardstock. The metallic cardstock is the most beautiful paper ever, and it's super thick! Love! I am running out of this purple color...I have used it a ton!

Next, I used a die cut template to cut the dotted "overlay" from Petallics Ice cardstock. The Petallics cardstock is also super thick and shimmery. I attached the dotted overlay with foam tape for extra dimension.

I pulled out a huge selection of die cut templates to cut the flower and leaf shapes. I even used some dies that had never been out of the packaging! {gasp!} Spellbinders especially has treated me so well as a designer that I have loads of dies that I never have time to use! I am trying to dig through the stash and give them some love!

I made all the flowers and leaves from Twist cardstock; Lime, Lilac, and Yellow. The Twist cardstock is smooth on one side and mulberry paper on the other. You are able to create amazing paper flowers! I have never seen this type of heavy-weight cardstock before! I am having a blast with it. Again, love the purple!

I used a bunch of different inks to add some dimension to the shapes. I stacked the layers of flowers together to form a flower cluster. I even folded some of the flowers to form buds! The Twist is easy to work with and takes the ink well.

I used Natural Smooth cardstock to trim out a small tag. I stamped the sentiment with gray ink. I chose the Smooth cardstock because of the matte finish for stamping. I attached the mini tag to the right side of the flower cluster with foam tape.

I trimmed Natural Smooth cardstock to fit the inside of the card, and then I stamped the sentiment with gray ink.

Thanks for looking!
