All Geared Up Travel Mini - Heartfelt Creations

Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! I have a fun, pocket travel mini to share with you today. I used the All Geared Up collection,  plus bits and pieces of other collections.

This mini may look a bit familiar! It is very similar to THIS gift card mini that I made a few weeks ago. I loved the pockets so much that I made in a larger format accordion album.

The album opens, accordion style, to reveal two more pages.

Flip the album over to see three more pages!

To create your pocket album, cut one piece of cardstock to 11 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches. The album measures 7" x 16 1/2" unfolded and 7" x 5 1/2" folded. The finished mini, with tags included, is approximately 1/2" thick. Score on the 11 1/2-inch side at 5 1/2 and 11 inches. Rotate the cardstock and score on the 10 1/2-inch side at 7 inches.

Rotate the cardstock to the 11 1/2-inch orientation. Use scissors or a notch punch to cut a notch in the right edge, where the score lines meet. Use circle punches or circle die templates to cut half circles in the upper left and lower right quadrants as shown.

Place double-stick tape on the right-hand tabs. Add a 5 3/8 x 2 inch piece of decorative paper to the upper right quadrant of the cardstock. Fold on the left score line. Fold the right tabs to the top of the pocket page and adhere.

Cut decorative paper to 5 3/8 x 4 1/2 inches. Punch the half circle notch to line up with the cardstock pocket. Attach paper. Add double-stick tape to the right and left edges below the score line. Fold up and adhere to create a double pocket.

Slip a 5 3/8 x 2 inch piece of decorative paper into the lower pocket and adhere. Then cut 5 3/8 x 3 1/2 inch piece of decorative paper for the bottom pocket. Punch the half circle notch to line up with the cardstock. You now have THREE pockets, two with notches and one without.

Create the accordion fold portion of the mini album. Cut cardstock to 12 x 7 inches. Score on the long edge at 1 and 6 1/2 inches.

Fold the 1-inch left tab as a mountain fold and place double-stick tape on the edge.

Attach the pocket portion to the accordion portion by the tab.

Add decorative paper (5 3/8 x 6 7/8 inches) the inside pages as desired. I chose papers from the All Geared Up, Celebrate the Journey, and Once Upon a Time collections.

Flip the album over and add paper to the back sides of the pages.

Trim two pieces of decorative paper to 5 3/8 x 2 1/2 inches. Use a circle punch or die template to create notches in the top center of each piece. Add adhesive to the sides and bottoms of the reverse of each piece of paper to create pockets.

Add the pockets, to the center of page 5, as shown.

Create flower embellishments to decorate your album. Stamp the Tattered Blossoms images several times onto red All Geared Up paper with black ink. Cut the flowers with the Tattered Blossoms Dies. Ink the edges of the flowers with Fired Brick ink, mist with water, and shape. Cut the gears with the All Geared Up Dies from red All Geared Up paper. Spray the gears with water and shape.

Stamp the Open Leaf images onto green All Geared Up paper with black ink. Cut the leaves with the Classic Leaf Dies. Ink the edges of the leaves with Shabby Shutters ink, mist, and shape. Stamp the Beautiful You leaf image onto green All Geared Up paper with black ink. Cut the leaves with the leaf die from Decorative Flower Pot Die set. Ink the edges of the leaves with Shabby Shutters ink, mist, and shape.

Glue flowers and gears together to form one large and two small blooms. Add gems to the centers. Attach the large flower and some of the leaves to the front pocket as shown. Cut one clock image from Once Upon a Time paper and tuck the clock behind the flower. Cut a sentiment tag from the Celebrate the Journey paper and add the the pocket as shown. Embellish the tag with a red gem.

Create a large photo mat from All Geared Up paper. Add a pull to the top of the mat with a piece of ribbon and a small flower. Slip the photo mat into the top pocket of the album.

Cut out various tags and photo mats from the All Geared Up, Once Upon A Time, and Celebrate the Journey Paper Collections. Tie the tags with twine and ribbon. Place the tags into the second pocket.

Make more mats and tags for the first pocket.

Decorate page 2 with a photo mat. (The Heartfelt Creations paper collections have beautiful, pre-made photo mats!)

Add a large photo mat to page 3. Add a ticket sentiment to the bottom of the mat.

Decorate page 4 (on the reverse of page 3) with a small photo mat. Trim a sentiment strip from Celebrate the Journey paper and add it to the bottom of the page with foam squares. Add the other small red flower and some leaves to the left edge of the page. Use a circle punch to punch out a title from Once Upon A Time paper.

Trim out various tags with the Luggage and Tags Die.

Fill the pockets of page 5 with tags, journaling blocks, and photo mats. Add a clock and a sentiment to the bottom of the page.
