Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - Thinking of You

Welcome! This is the last Heartfelt Creations Wednesday creation for 2014! We will soon be sharing the 2015 releases, starting with the January Release on January 14th! I wish all of you a happy and healthy New Year!

Now that the Christmas card making frenzy is over, I felt like giving you a breath of spring. Many of you are having winter weather and cold temperatures. Here in southern California, we are having "autumn" weather. The days are warm and sunny and the nights are cool. But, then again, some days are rainy with cold nights - just like a "normal" fall. The few deciduous trees in the area are finally showing their fall colors. So, I figured, why not do a springtime card and really confuse everyone!

This is the first time I have had a chance to work with the Arianna Blooms Collection, which was released in June 2014. I have the paper pad from this collection, and I love the pink flowers and the fun butterflies. I had to make a card with this pretty paper!

Create a 6" x 4 1/2" card by trimming black cardstock to 12" x 4 1/2". Score at 6" to make a top-fold card. Trim Arianna Blooms floral butterfly paper to 3 1/2" x 4 3/8". Attach to the top of the card front.

Trim black cardstock to 3 1/2" x 4 1/2". Trim Arianna Blooms floral butterfly paper to 3 3/8" x 4 3/8" and attach to the black cardstock piece.

Wrap the top of the cardstock piece with pink twill and white lace, attaching at the back. Place strong, double-sided adhesive on the sides and bottom of the black cardstock piece and attach it to the bottom of the card front to form a pocket.

Use the chalky finish paint to alter the metal keyhole, allow to dry. Attach the keyhole to the left edge of the card, sliding the top just under the lace and twill at the top of the pocket. Using sharp scissors, fussy-cut two butterflies and two small pink flowers from the Arianna Blooms paper.

Glue the butterflies to the card pocket, making sure to only place glue on the butterfly bodies, allowing the wings to bend upward. Use the Paper Blossoms Tools to shape the fussy-cut flowers, and then glue them to the left edge of the metal keyhole.

Use the ticket die from the Luggage and Tags Die Set to cut out the sentiment from the Arianna Blooms paper. Attach the ticket to the bottom left corner of the card with foam adhesive.

Create a loopy bow from pink and green silk ribbon and glue to the left edge of the pocket, overlapping the pink twill and white lace. Tie pink twine to a pink button, and then glue the button to the top of the loopy bow.

Using the tag die from the Luggage and Tags Die set, cut out three tags from the Arianna Blooms paper collection. Use sentiments from the All Occasion Sentiments and Beautiful You PreCut Sets and black die ink to stamp a sentiment onto each tag. Tie silk ribbon to the tags and place the tags into the pocket.

Trim pink paper from the Arianna Blooms collection to 5 7/8" x 4 3/8" and line the top inside of the card. Trim a second piece of pink paper from the Arianna Blooms collection to 5 1/2" x 4 3/8" and line the bottom inside of the card. Trim a small strip of floral paper from the Arianna Booms paper to 1/2" x 4 3/8" and attach to the very bottom edge of the inside of the card.

Trim white cardstock to 4 3/8" x 3 5/8" and attach to the center of the lower pink panel on the inside of the card. Stamp the birthday sentiment from the All Occasion Sentiments PreCut Set with black die ink onto the white cardstock.
